Dad and Son Podcast

Jack and Simon Devlin

The Dad & Son Podcast is a sports and banter podcast hosted by Jack Devlin and his dad Simon, where generations collide over sport, life, and whatever else comes up in the studio. Each episode dives into the biggest stories from the NBL, NBA, AFL and NFL, with Jack bringing the fresh takes and fearless opinions, while Dad adds a little experience (and occasionally tries to keep the show on track). But it's not just about sport. The show also explores life in general — from school, family and growing up, to whatever random topics happen to pop up during a conversation between a dad and his son. Recorded in Little Team Dev Studios in Mount Claremont, the podcast started as a fun idea during lockdown when Jack was just 7 years old, and has grown into a unique father-son show filled with sports debates, bold predictions, special guests, and plenty of classic Dad & Son banter. Sometimes Jack leads the conversation. Sometimes Dad thinks he's in charge. Either way, it's proof that the best conversations often happen between Dad and Son. Listen now at dadandson.com.au

The Glow Up DaSP 2.0 Teenage Dirtbag, Flagmantle, LeBron, Jack Gets Detention and He Has a New Clothing Brand

THE BOYS ARE BACK. And apparently, DaSP has had a glow up. 🔥 Six years after Jack and Simon first fired up the microphones, DaSP 2.0 has officially arrived — new look, new sponsors, new producer… same absolute nonsense. Jack's now 13, launching his own clothing brand Advent, and somehow still being questioned by Dad about his maths. Simon's discovered golf and would desperately like everyone to care. Nobody does. Then it's time for sport — and Freo are MINOR PREMIERS. 💜⚓ Simon explains why this Fremantle side feels different, why Andrew Brayshaw might just be "Patient Zero" for the club's culture, and why 100 x 100-metre sprints on Christmas Day is completely unhinged behaviour. Across the Pacific, the 76ers have apparently gone completely nuclear. Jaylen Brown. LeBron. Philly. Simon celebrates Paul George's departure with all the restraint you'd expect. The Buffalo Bills have a new coach, the Wildcats are bringing back Angus Brandt, and Simon is already preparing the sledges for Trevor Gleeson's return. Meanwhile, DaSP welcomes its newest team member: Alfred — the AI house butler who's somehow gone from helping with homework to producing the podcast. Then things take a turn. Jack's school life is going nicely. Basketball program. New mates. Year 7. Oh… and Dad got an email. A basketball incident. A shove. A ripped shirt. Detention. Jack would like to appeal. Simon has reviewed the footage that doesn't exist and determined the contact was HIGH. INTENTIONAL. STRAIGHT TO THE TRIBUNAL. Case closed. 😂 Also this week: * 🍔 Jack gives McDonald's some suspiciously free advertising * 🥩 Black Iron BBQ gets the official DaSP chef's kiss * 👕 Advent gets its DaSP debut * ⛳ Simon attempts to turn DaSP into a golf podcast * 🏆 Freo start dreaming about their first flag * 🏀 Philly suddenly becomes a January holiday destination * 🇺🇸 Jack discovers America's portion sizes and immediately wants a Big Gulp * 🏈 The Bills enter the Joe Brady era * 🐱 The Wildcats welcome back Angus Brandt * 🤖 Alfred joins Team DaSP * 🚨 Carlton provides genuine breaking news mid-podcast * 🏫 Jack fronts the DaSP Tribunal * 📣 And approximately half of Jack's school gets a shout-out

The boys are back again — This week, Jack and Simon wrestle with tech troubles, ring Ruby out of nowhere, and try to emotionally process Bryce Cotton's bombshell.

Dad & Son Podcast – Ep. 31: "Jack's Tips, Wildcat Tears & Swimming Fails" We came, we saw, we (barely) swam. The boys are back again—three pods in three weeks—which is officially a record and possibly a cry for help. This week, Jack and Simon wrestle with tech troubles, ring Ruby out of nowhere, and try to emotionally process Bryce Cotton's bombshell. Here's what's on the menu: 🎥 Lights, camera… chaos – New camera setup thanks to Camera Electronics, but only one Jack and not enough jacks. You do the math. 📞 Ruby (sort of) answers – She thought it was an emergency. It was. The podcast is always an emergency. Special cameo by Amelia, who instantly becomes a DASP fan favourite. 🏀 Josh Giddey pulls off an NBA miracle – Steals, dimes, a half-court walk-off… and commentary that deserves an Oscar. 🏉 Western Derby wash-up – Dockers own it, Sorong gets his fourth Glendinning, Brayshaw shanks one, and West Coast is... well, not great. 🧠 Jack's Tips™ are back – If you bet your pocket money on him last week… sorry. But this week, he's got bold calls: North over Sydney, Carlton over Collingwood, and Port for Harlow. 😢 Wildcats heartbreak – Bryce Cotton's leaving. Jack's in denial, Simon's in conspiracy mode, and Kendrick Davis is labelled a flog. It's fine. We're fine. 🏊 Jack at the swimming carnival – Came last in every race and still showed up. That's grit. That's DASP. 🎭 Assembly antics – Paparazzi Jack in a suit, Ruben does Trump, Simon pitches a full-room interview special. 🗣️ Shoutouts – Big love to Room 18, the Tay's, Finn Freytag, Mr Porteous, Miss Maul, and anyone surviving footy tipping this year. Classic DASP: jokes, sport, and sibling ambush calls—served hot from Little Team Dev Studios. 🎙️ Listen now. Laugh lots. Maybe cry a little about Bryce.

Breakie Mayhem when Damo Martin joins the DaSP to talk Freo & NBL..Jack gives Michael Frederick a High5 in the tunnel..Jack Munches on his Vegemite Toast..Jack's Tips are not Great..Mr Porteous is a Legend...and it all Happens before Jack gets to School

Live from Little Team Dev Studios... It's way too early, but the Dad and Son Podcast doesn't care! Simon's chugging his pre-morning sports drink (who knew cyclists did breakfast?) while Jack's crunching on Vegemite toast. Freo Heartbreak: The boys hit up the game and scored epic locker room seats, thanks to Dad's mate Mace Turco—shoutout! Jack even scored a high-five from Michael Frederick (which was more touches than he got on the field, to be honest). Damo Drops In: Surprise guest alert! Damien Martin jumps on the line mid-morning chaos—kids yelling, breakfast battles—but still drops some inside scoop on Freo and NBL grand final vibes. Illawarra clinches it, and Matthew Dellavedova gives MVP honors to Will Hickey in pure class mode. F1 Frenzy: Piastri cleans up at the Chinese Grand Prix, while Yuki Tsunoda's gunning for a Red Bull upgrade—and being hilariously honest about it. The Red Bull drama continues as drivers fight to keep their seats. AFL Antics: Jack's footy tips are… questionable. Hawthorn proves him right, but Collingwood smashes his Bulldogs pick, and Essendon gets obliterated. Jack's tipping track record? Let's just say it's a gamble. NBA Buzz: Josh Giddey on fire—dropped 22 points, 17 assists, 13 boards, and 8 steals. Meanwhile, Dyson Daniels is locking down Defensive Player of the Year vibes, and the Bulls are leaning on Giddey after trading away Zach LaVine. Shoutouts: Room 17 legends, Ruby for dodging the phone call (classic), and Mr. Porteous for keeping the class in line while secretly letting the pod play for a minute. Coming Soon: Cameras in the studio! You'll get to see Simon's desk mess and Jack's breakfast chaos live on YouTube. Stay tuned for more unscripted mayhem and off-the-cuff banter!
