Slovak lesson 1. povedať, že (to say that) Anton povedal, že príde neskôr. (Anthony said that he would come later.) 2. napísať, že (to write that) Musíš mi napísať, že si v poriadku. (You must write to me that you are okay.) 3. myslieť, že (to think that) Nemyslím, že máš pravdu. (I don’t think that you are right.) 4. vedieť, že (to know that) Je dobré vedieť, že si tu. (It is good to know that you are here.) 5. veriť, že (to believe that) Veríme, že tento zápas vyhráme. (We believe that we will win this match.) 6. dúfať, že (to hope that) Dúfajme, že zajtra bude svietiť slnko. (Let’s hope that the sun will shine tomorrow.) 7. vidieť, že (to see that) Je jasne vidieť, že máš veľkú radosť. (It is clearly visible that you have great joy.) 8. počuť, že (to hear that) Počuli sme, že Zuzana vyhrala preteky. (We heard that Zuzana won the race.) 9. Myslím, že je to dobrý nápad. (I think it's a good idea.) 10. Lepšie raz vidieť, ako stokrát počuť. (Better to see something once than to hear about it a hundred times. / Seeing is believing.) DIALOGUE Anna: Ahoj, Mária. Počula si, že v múzeu je nová výstava? (Hi Maria. Have you heard that there is a new exhibition at the museum?) Mária: Áno, bola som tam v sobotu. (Yes, I was there on Saturday.) Anna: O čom je tá výstava? (What is the exhibition about?) Mária: Jedným slovom povedané, o rádiu. (In one word, about radio.) Anna: Oplatí sa tam ísť? (Is it worth going there?) Mária: Určite. Výstava je veľmi zaujímavá. (Definitely. The exhibition is very interesting.) Anna: Čo sa tam dá vidieť? (What can you see there?) Mária: Staré vysielače a rádiá, staré fotografie a staré mikrofóny. (Old transmitters and radios, old photographs and old microphones.) Anna: Mali tam aj nejaké staré nahrávky? (Did they have any old recordings there too?) Mária: Samozrejme. Vysielali ich zo starého rádia. (Of course. They were broadcasting them on an old radio.) Anna: Znie to zaujímavo. (It sounds interesting.) Mária: Odporúčam ti to vidieť na vlastné oči. Vieš, ako sa hovorí: Lepšie raz vidieť, ako stokrát počuť. (I recommend you see it with your own eyes. You know what they say: Better to see once than hear a hundred times.)
