S2 E7. All About Authenticated 2026: Own It

What happens when you've become so good at showing up for everyone else that you've stopped paying attention to yourself? In this episode of The Authenticated Life, Sharon Roshell takes listeners inside the heart of Authenticated 2026: Own It, an intentional day of exploration designed to help people reconnect with their authentic voice and move into greater alignment with who God created them to be. Sharon Roshell explains what it means to "own it": recognizing the evidence God has already placed throughout your life—your gifts, values, desires, natural roles, and the things that bring you alive—and trusting what that evidence reveals instead of waiting for outside validation. She also shares who Authenticated was created for, from the dependable person who constantly carries responsibility for others to the person whose life looks successful on the outside but no longer feels aligned on the inside. This experience is not built around fixing what is broken. It is an invitation to slow down, pay attention, listen, and explore. Sharon Roshell introduces the 2026 A Team of explorers and explains the unique perspective each person brings to the room. Together, they will help participants explore clarity, confidence, and congruence—recognizing what is true, trusting it, and allowing life to reflect it. Authenticated 2026 is an invitation to stop negotiating with the truth of who you are, examine the evidence, and own it. More of What's Inside Why your gifts, values, desires, and natural tendencies can serve as evidence of who you were created to be What it means to stop negotiating with the truth of who you are Why dependable people can become less available to themselves while consistently showing up for everyone else How outside expectations and difficult experiences can make it harder to recognize your authentic voice Why Authenticated is designed for exploration rather than performance, proving, or being "fixed" How the explorers' stories and insights can become entry points for your own reflection Why Sharon Roshell chose Shante Smith to help participants explore identity and discernment How Dr. Antonio Thomas will challenge participants to move from insight into ownership and action Why Rashanda Pratt's work around visibility and storytelling connects with the courage to be seen How Lady Andrea Boisvert's perspective will help create space for examining relationships with self and others Why Tanya Childress was chosen to help shape the atmosphere and experience as emcee The difference between clarity, confidence, and congruence—and how the three work together to create alignment How the Authenticated event passport will help participants capture insights and reflect throughout the day Why worship will close the experience as a response to what God has revealed Connect with Sharon Roshell Website: https://www.SharonRoshell.com — Take the FREE Internal Compass Assessment Here Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamSharonRoshell Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamSharonRoshell TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamSharonRoshell Episode Timestamps 00:00 – Welcome to The Authenticated Life 00:47 – Sharon Roshell explains what Authenticated is really about 01:38 – The heart behind Authenticated: slowing down, examining the evidence, and finding alignment 02:00 – What "Own It" means for Authenticated 2026 03:34 – Who the Authenticated experience was created for 05:32 – Why the room is designed for attention, not performance or proving 06:16 – How the explorers will help participants discover their own authentic voice 07:25 – Sharon Roshell introduces the 2026 A Team 08:00 – Shontae Smith: identity, discernment, and clarity 08:53 – Dr. Antonio Thomas: ownership, responsibility, and action 10:00 – Authenticated welcomes both men and women 10:14 – Roshanda Pratt: visibility, storytelling, and the courage to be seen 11:21 – Lady Andrea Boweya: relationships, healing, and compassionate exploration 12:40 – Tanya Childress: creating atmosphere and guiding the experience as emcee 14:00 – Exploring clarity, confidence, and congruence 14:38 – How the Authenticated event passport will guide reflection throughout the day 15:00 – Why the experience will close in worship 15:23 – Sharon Roshell's invitation to the person who is ready to reconnect and realign 16:00 – Authenticated 2026: examining the evidence and owning who God created you to be 16:22 – How to secure an event passport

    S2 E6. When Self-Doubt Interrupts Alignment

What happens when the problem is not that you lack clarity—but that you begin doubting yourself the moment it is time to act on what you already know? In this episode of The Authenticated Life, Sharon Roshell explores how self-doubt can interrupt alignment even when the truth feels clear. She explains that self-doubt does not always mean a person lacks belief in themselves. Sometimes it appears in the space between knowing what is true and being willing to move in agreement with it. Sharon Roshell introduces three connected elements of alignment: clarity, confidence, and congruence. Clarity recognizes what is true. Confidence trusts what is known and the ability to respond to what happens next. Congruence allows actions to reflect that truth. When those three work together, the authentic voice becomes visible through the way a person lives. The episode also examines some of the ways self-doubt disguises itself. More information can feel productive while actually creating confusion. Comparison can turn someone else's approach into an unnecessary measuring stick. Perfectionism can sound responsible while keeping an idea from ever moving forward. And sometimes hesitation is less about questioning the decision and more about fearing the emotional discomfort that may follow. Sharon Roshell also makes an important distinction between wisdom and avoidance. Preparation can be wise, but endless preparation can become a way of staying hidden. Confidence does not require knowing that everything will go according to plan. It means trusting the ability to remain present, learn, adjust, and continue even when the outcome is uncertain. Finally, Sharon Roshell reminds listeners that what feels like self-doubt may sometimes be exhaustion. Rest can be an aligned action too. The goal is not to eliminate every question or hesitation, but to learn how to reflect without abandoning the truth already recognized within. More of What's Inside Why self-doubt can appear after clarity rather than before it How clarity, confidence, and congruence work together to create alignment Why repeatedly reopening a settled question can weaken confidence instead of increasing clarity How information overload can crowd out the sound of a person's own authentic voice Why comparison does not mean a different approach is deficient How perfectionism can become "self-doubt wearing professional clothes" Why confidence is less about controlling the outcome and more about trusting the ability to handle what comes next How self-doubt can present avoidance as safety while also limiting growth, visibility, and fulfillment The difference between wisdom that says "prepare" and self-doubt that says "disappear" How small aligned actions can rebuild self-trust Why congruence does not always mean moving faster—and can sometimes mean resting How emotional fatigue can look like self-doubt when the real need is support, space, or recovery Three questions to ask when second-guessing begins: What was already clear? Has anything actually changed? What feels frightening about acting? S2 E5. Reading the Room Without Losing Your Authentic Voice

What happens when you become so good at reading the room that you stop listening to yourself? In this episode of The Authenticated Life, Sharon Roshell reflects on a moment when she realized that her ability to notice subtle facial expressions was doing more than helping her understand the people around her. It was also influencing how she spoke, what she explained, and whether she stayed connected to what she actually wanted to say. Sharon shares how reading microexpressions first became a way of navigating the adults around her as a child and later developed into a valuable skill in nursing, caregiving, ministry, leadership, and communication. But over time, she began to recognize how that same awareness could cause her to over-adjust, over-explain, or abandon her point in response to someone else's discomfort, confusion, or disappointment. That realization led her to an important question: When did their expression become more authoritative than my authentic voice? Through this experience, Sharon shares three lessons for reading the room without losing yourself: know what your authentic voice is saying before you enter the conversation, let another person's expression inform you without redirecting you, and care for others without abandoning yourself. This episode is a reminder that sensitivity is a gift—but it still needs boundaries. You can notice someone's reaction, respond with compassion, and remain open to clarification without giving their facial expression more authority than the truth you know inside. More of What's Inside How Sharon learned to notice facial expressions and emotional shifts from an early age Why reading microexpressions became a valuable skill in nursing, caregiving, ministry, leadership, and communication The difference between reading the room and allowing the room to write your words How another person's reaction can quietly influence what you say, soften, over-explain, or leave unsaid Why knowing your main point before an important conversation can help you remain grounded How facial expressions can trigger unnecessary explaining and emotional management Why every look of confusion, disappointment, or discomfort does not require another explanation Why another person's expression can be treated as information without becoming instruction The difference between curiosity and assumption when someone's facial expression changes Why awareness does not automatically equal an assignment The difference between caring for someone and taking responsibility for their entire emotional experience How caregiving can become self-abandonment when you silence what you need in order to keep someone else comfortable How to stay sensitive and flexible in communication without abandoning your truth Why maintaining your authentic voice does not require becoming insensitive to the people around you How boundaries can help sensitivity remain a gift instead of becoming a reason to lose yourself Connect with Sharon Roshell Website: https://www.SharonRoshell.com — Take the FREE Internal Compass Assessment Here Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamSharonRoshell Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamSharonRoshell TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamSharonRoshell Episode Timestamps 00:00 – Welcome to The Authenticated Life 01:30 – Sharon notices how closely she watches facial expressions during conversations 02:30 – How reading people became a way of navigating her environment as a child 04:10 – Realizing she was allowing the room to write her words 05:00 – When someone else's expression becomes more authoritative than your authentic voice 07:00 – Three lessons for reading the room without losing yourself 07:30 – Lesson One: Know what your authentic voice is saying before the conversation begins 09:00 – How reading reactions can lead to over-explaining 12:00 – Saying what needs to be said clearly and allowing the other person to process 13:20 – Lesson Two: Let their expression inform you without redirecting you 15:00 – Asking questions instead of managing emotions you may not fully understand 17:00 – Lesson Three: Care for others without abandoning yourself 17:30 – Why awareness does not automatically equal an assignment 19:00 – The difference between caregiving and self-abandonment 22:00 – Sensitivity is a gift, but it still needs boundaries

S2 E4. I Got Caught in the Act

What happens when your emotions take over before you realize it? In this episode of The Authenticated Life, Sharon Roshell shares a surprising moment that revealed just how disconnected she had become while upset. After discovering that important documents were missing from her kitchen table, Sharon was certain she had not moved them. She questioned her husband, considered other explanations, and eventually checked her home camera footage for answers. What she found stopped her in her tracks. The footage showed Sharon cleaning around the very spot where the papers had been sitting. After digging through the outside trash, she found the documents—ripped into pieces and thrown away by her own hands, with absolutely no memory of doing it. That moment became more than a story about missing papers. It became an invitation to examine what can happen when strong emotions interrupt awareness. Sharon explores the importance of paying attention when something feels off, investigating before finalizing a story, and following the truth even when it leads back to you. She also explains the difference between self-doubt and self-awareness and why recognizing your patterns can help you respond from a more grounded and authentic place. This episode is a reminder that emotions can provide valuable information, but they do not have to be given the authority to make every decision. More of What's Inside How Sharon discovered she had thrown away important documents without remembering it Why strong emotions can interrupt awareness even while you are still functioning and getting things done How being physically present does not always mean you are fully connected to yourself Why certainty and truth are not always the same thing How incomplete information can cause you to create a story that feels completely true Why it is important to pause before turning a feeling into an accusation How investigating the facts can allow truth to interrupt your first assumption Why rereading messages, checking details, asking questions, and slowing down can change your interpretation The difference between trusting your emotions and allowing them to determine the entire truth Why your authentic voice is willing to receive new information, even when it proves your first conclusion wrong What it means to follow the truth even when the truth leads back to you How Sharon learned something new about herself at the height of emotional overwhelm The difference between self-doubt and self-awareness Why self-awareness turns an uncomfortable discovery into useful information instead of an indictment of your identity How identifying your personal patterns can help you recognize when you are becoming disconnected from your authentic voice Why it may be wise to temporarily reduce your authority to act when emotions are at their highest How to feel an emotion fully without allowing it to finalize a decision Why returning to your authentic voice does not always mean responding gently—it means responding from grounded truth   Connect with Sharon Roshell Website: https://www.SharonRoshell.com — Take the FREE Internal Compass Assessment Here Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamSharonRoshell Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamSharonRoshell TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamSharonRoshell Episode Timestamps 00:00 – Welcome to The Authenticated Life 01:12 – Sharon realizes her important documents are missing 02:00 – Searching for an explanation and questioning what happened 03:00 – Checking the camera footage and getting caught in the act 04:00 – Finding the shredded documents in the trash 05:00 – Realizing the deeper issue was a lack of awareness 06:00 – What emotional overwhelm can cause us to mishandle 07:00 – The difference between emotion and the authentic voice 08:00 – Lesson One: Pay attention when something feels off 09:40 – Lesson Two: Investigate before you finalize the story 11:00 – Letting information interrupt your first conclusion 12:45 – Lesson Three: Follow the truth even when it leads back to you 14:00 – What the authentic voice may reveal about your own behavior 15:00 – The difference between self-doubt and self-awareness 16:00 – Recognizing your pattern when emotions are high 16:40 – Why you may need to temporarily reduce your authority to act 17:00 – Feeling emotions without allowing them to finalize decisions 18:00 – Questions to ask yourself before responding while upset 18:35 – Finding more than missing documents in the trash

S2 E3. To Hide or Not to Hide...Let's Answer This Question

What do you do when everything in you wants to leave? In this episode of The Authenticated Life, Sharon Roshell shares a personal experience from a state meeting that unexpectedly brought anxiety, discomfort, and the urge to hide to the surface. What looked like a simple breakout-group activity quickly became a moment that challenged her sense of control, preparation, and confidence. Instead of judging herself for wanting to escape, Sharon began asking a different question: What about this moment feels unsafe, unpredictable, or unmanageable? That question helped her recognize the difference between being in danger and being uncomfortable, between being incapable and simply feeling unprepared. Through this experience, Sharon shares three lessons for navigating moments when the instinct to hide becomes loud: pause before obeying the urge to escape, create enough structure to enter the moment as yourself, and let your authentic voice decide when and how you speak. This episode is a reminder that confidence does not mean never feeling anxious. Sometimes confidence looks like noticing what your body is communicating, remembering what you know to be true, and choosing not to abandon yourself when discomfort appears. More of What's Inside Why uncertainty and lack of structure can trigger the urge to escape How asking "Why am I like this?" can lead to self-judgment instead of self-awareness The difference between being in danger and simply feeling uncomfortable Why feeling unprepared does not mean you are incapable How hiding can become a form of self-protection Why immediate relief does not always mean leaving was the best decision How to pause before automatically obeying the urge to escape Why feelings are valuable information without having to become instructions How your authentic voice can remind you what remains true even when anxiety is present Why small intentional choices can help create a sense of structure in uncertain situations How Sharon used something as simple as choosing her chair to feel more grounded Why entering the conversation early helped prevent fear from making the decision for her The difference between showing up authentically and performing for the room Why you do not have to speak every time there is silence How to recognize the difference between hiding and genuinely listening Why confidence is not about eliminating anxiety but remaining connected to yourself when it appears Connect with Sharon Roshell Website: https://www.SharonRoshell.com — Take the FREE Internal Compass Assessment Here Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamSharonRoshell Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamSharonRoshell TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamSharonRoshell Episode Timestamps 00:00 – Welcome to The Authenticated Life 00:47 – Sharon shares what happened at the state meeting 01:30 – The unexpected breakout-group announcement 02:00 – Why the small-group setting triggered the urge to leave 03:38 – Facing a conversation she could not control or prepare for 04:00 – Replacing self-judgment with a better question 05:38 – The tension between wanting to hide and wanting the experience 06:10 – Recognizing hiding as a form of self-protection 07:00 – The difference between danger, discomfort, and feeling unprepared 07:45 – Three lessons Sharon learned from the experience 08:00 – Lesson One: Pause before obeying the urge to escape 10:00 – Feelings are information, but they do not have to make the decision 11:45 – Lesson Two: Create enough structure to enter as yourself 12:38 – Why Sharon chose to speak early 13:00 – Showing up as herself instead of performing for the room 15:00 – Lesson Three: Let your authentic voice decide when you speak 17:00 – The difference between hiding and listening 19:00 – Choosing not to abandon yourself when anxiety appears 20:00 – A new definition of confidence 20:40 – Questions to ask when you feel the urge to bolt 22:00 – Closing encouragement

S2 E2. Sign Your Own Permission Slip

What are you waiting for permission to do? In this episode of The Authenticated Life, Sharon Roshell explores how the childhood habit of seeking permission can quietly follow people into adulthood. While permission slips once required the signature of a parent, teacher, or other authority figure, many adults still find themselves waiting for someone else to approve their decisions, dreams, boundaries, or next steps. Sharon explains how self-doubt can cause people to distrust what they already know to be true. Instead of moving in alignment with their authentic voice and what God has placed within them, they may begin collecting opinions, confirmations, and outside approval. Through thoughtful questions and a practical reflection exercise, Sharon invites listeners to identify where they have been waiting, examine who they have given authority over their choices, and consider whether the signature they truly need is their own. This episode is an encouraging reminder that faith does not require the absence of fear. It requires a willingness to agree with God, trust the truth within, and take responsibility for moving forward.   More of What's Inside How the habit of seeking permission in childhood can follow people into adulthood Why stepping outside familiar roles and routines often triggers self-doubt How outside approval can begin to feel more trustworthy than personal conviction The difference between seeking wise counsel and giving someone else authority over your decisions Why self-doubt does not erase what you already know to be true How faith can mean agreeing with God while fear and uncertainty are still present Why you may not be waiting on other people—you may be waiting on yourself How to identify the area where you have been waiting for permission A practical exercise for writing and signing your own permission slip What it means to take responsibility for moving in the direction God has revealed   Connect with Sharon Roshell:  Website: https://www.SharonRoshell.com [Take FREE Internal Compass Assessment Here] Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamSharonRoshell Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamSharonRoshell TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamSharonRoshell   Episode Timestamps: 00:00 – Welcome to The Authenticated Life 00:34 – Introducing the idea of permission slips 01:08 – Why children need authorization from an authority figure 02:03 – The permission slips adults still rely on 02:37 – Permission and stepping outside the normal routine 03:24 – Looking for a signature when life begins to change 03:50 – How self-doubt causes people to question what they know 04:42 – Understanding the authentic voice 05:10 – Waiting for outside confirmation 05:41 – The proper role of wisdom and counsel 06:12 – Identifying the authority figure whose approval you want 06:39 – The deeper question: Do you agree with God? 07:06 – Realizing that you may be waiting on yourself 07:49 – Naming the area where you are waiting for permission 08:26 – Examining who has authority over your decision 08:48 – Faith, fear, and moving while feelings catch up 09:15 – Listening to what your authentic voice is saying 09:43 – God has already granted permission for growth and alignment 10:18 – Writing your personal permission slip 11:01 – What signing your permission slip really means 11:43 – No more outside signatures 12:16 – The invitation to make your move 12:31 – Closing encouragement and Internal Compass Assessment
