Guest Bio: Chris Killingsworth is a retired U.S. Army Intelligence Warrant Officer who spent 22 years in uniform, with deployments spanning the Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Those experiences left their mark, but they also eventually led him down a very different path toward healing, growth, and service. After decades of struggling with trauma and alcohol, Chris began exploring healing outside the traditional boxes. Psychedelic experiences, including psilocybin and Bufo, became important parts of that journey and helped change his relationship with trauma, addiction, spirituality, and himself. That exploration grew to include hypnotherapy, meditation, breathwork, community, ceremony, and other integrative approaches to healing. In September 2026, Chris celebrated five years of sobriety. Today, Chris is a board-certified Integrative Health Coach, hypnotherapist, counselor, and founder of Another Path, a faith-based nonprofit creating community and exploring different paths toward healing, connection, purpose, and personal growth, particularly within the veteran community. Chris doesn't believe psychedelics are a magic answer, or that there's one right way to heal. He believes in creating space for people to explore what helps them reconnect with themselves and one another, build meaningful community, and discover that life can become much bigger than simply surviving what happened to us. His philosophy is simple: Honor every tradition. Challenge every illusion. ------ Takeaways ResilienceJourney to Sobriety Overcoming alcoholism and terminal illnessThe power of mindset and lifestyle in healing Trust and verify medical adviceAdvocating for oneself in healthcare Chapters 00:00 Early Life and Military Service03:07 Struggles with Alcoholism07:07 Rehab and Recovery12:54 Faith and Healing29:54 Facing Terminal Cancer38:40 A Journey of Healing and Transformation39:29 The Impact of Mindset and Lifestyle01:15:20 The Role of Perspective and Authority01:16:42 Empowerment in Healthcare01:19:01 Changes in Disability Ratings01:21:10 Self-Advocacy and VA Support01:30:21 Personal Growth and Healing01:36:17 Spirituality and Personal Journey
