    Online Dating After 50 #138

A five hour date, nonstop texting, plans for coffee, then total silence. That’s not a one-off story anymore, it’s a snapshot of modern online dating, especially if you’re dating over 50 and trying to make sense of the swipe-first culture. We sit down with Cathy Berra, author of “These Stories Are True, I Shit You Not,” to talk about what really happens when an older woman jumps into dating apps. Cathy shares how her friends helped her create her first profile, how the most ridiculous situations kept stacking up, and why those moments became a humor-filled book and a surprisingly big TikTok presence. Along the way, we unpack the bigger patterns. The conversation takes a serious turn with romance scams and catfishing. Cathy breaks down the scammer scripts that target older women, why people fall for them, and the red flags that can protect you on dating apps and platforms like WhatsApp. We also get into profile language, mixed signals around modern gender roles, age-gap dating expectations, and how social media has shrunk attention spans and weakened real face-to-face conversation skills. If you’ve ever thought, “Is it just me?” you’re going to feel seen, and you’ll probably laugh, too. Subscribe to Straight From The Source’s Mouth, share this episode with a friend who’s dating online, and leave a review with your biggest dating app red flag or your funniest story. The Security Method For Dating with Paul Roseberry #137

Dating gets exhausting when you feel like you’re auditioning for approval. I sit down with Paul Roseberry, a relationship coach, matchmaker, and stand-up comic, to talk about a simpler foundation that makes everything clearer: security. Not fake confidence, not pick-up tactics, not pretending you don’t care. Real relationship security, where interest is mutual, respect stays intact, and both people can relax into something healthy. We dig into why “too nice” can backfire when it’s really fear in a friendly disguise, and how that dynamic can turn into people-pleasing, resentment, or control. Paul shares the coaching moments that pushed him to formalize what he calls the Security Method, including how small communication shifts (especially over texting) can change the tone from needy to grounded without being cold or manipulative. We also talk about masculinity in a modern way that’s steady and attractive without being performative, plus the role encouragement and compliments play in keeping a relationship balanced. If you want practical dating advice you can use tonight, Paul walks us through “the fives” exercise. Then we land on one of my favorite takeaways: “flip the interview” so you stop chasing and start choosing with intention. Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s stuck, and leave a review if it helps. What’s one place you want more security in your relationships? Send us Fan Mail Support the show Thanks for listening! What If Your Turn-Ons Are Trying To Heal You #136

Your sex life doesn’t need more performance, it needs more truth in the body. We sit down with Darshana Avila, a trauma-informed somatic educator and sexological bodyworker featured on Netflix’s Sex, Love and Goop, to talk about what changes when you stop chasing “being good” and start building real connection to sensation, desire, and choice. We dig into erotic wholeness: Eros as sexuality and also as creativity, vitality, and life force. From shame to BDSM misconceptions to the idea behind Existential Kink, we explore how turn-ons can be complex, how aversion can shift in the right consensual container, and why “don’t yuck another person’s yum” is more than a cute phrase. Darshana also explains why so many people say “I don’t know what I like,” and why that beginner’s mind can be the most powerful place to start. Then we get practical about embodiment and nervous system regulation. We also talk about where tension can hide in the body and simple ways to reconnect through your senses in daily life. If this conversation opens something up for you share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find honest, body-based sex education. How Couples Can Stop Mother-In-Law Conflict Before It Starts #135

We talk with couples therapist Dr. Tracy Dagleish about why mother-in-law conflict escalates and how couples can stay connected while setting clear boundaries. We break down the patterns that pull partners apart, then share tools and scripts that keep the marriage first without cutting family off.  • why couples crave a healthy extended family relationship yet struggle to act as a team  • the Vault Method and why values come before boundary talk  • the 35,000-foot view vs ground-level agreements in daily family life  • how triangulation works and how to step out of the triangle  • the deeper need under the fight such as autonomy or control  • six mother-in-law behavior types and what tends to work with each  • why denial and dismissing feelings fuels resentment  • how gender socialization leaves many men unprepared to set family boundaries  • planning for predictable family moments and pairing limits with reassurance  • validating upset feelings without turning it into right vs wrong  If you love this episode, be sure to tell your friends about it and rate it as well. Write A Relationship Mission Statement And Live It #134

You can be a confident problem-solver at work and still feel lost the moment a hard conversation starts at home. That gap is exactly where Dr. Robin Buckley lives as a clinical psychologist turned executive coach and couples coach. We sit down with her to explore why a proactive coaching model can feel so relieving for couples who are tired of replaying the past and ready to build something better in the present. We dig into her business-inspired relationship framework from her book, Marriage Incorporated: The Boardroom Blueprint To A Lasting Love, starting with a surprisingly powerful tool. We also talk about common stress points that derail partnerships, including finances, caregiving and parenting, and making time for intimacy beyond sex, with practical ways to reduce blow-ups and prevent “surprise” conflicts. Then we zoom out to mental wellness and peak performance using cognitive behavioral strategies and bite-size neuroscience. You’ll hear simple, real-world tactics to talk back to fear, choose a better story, and create communication systems that fit different styles, including agendas, shared docs, and structured check-ins. From Shame To Options In Modern Penis Enlargement #133

Most people don’t realize how early body anxiety can start, or how quietly it can shape decades of confidence. I’m joined by Dan Salas, owner and CEO of Surgery Life Enhancement, who begins with the most personal credential possible: he started as a patient. From childhood insecurity to making a life’s work out of helping others, Dan lays out the emotional side of male enhancement with a level of honesty you rarely hear.  We also get practical and specific about the procedures themselves. Dan explains how penis enlargement options have evolved from older approaches  to newer, less invasive methods for penile girth enhancement. If you’ve ever searched terms like male enhancement surgery, penis enlargement, PMMA penile filler, or penis lengthening, this conversation helps translate the jargon into plain English.  A big takeaway is that outcomes aren’t just about what happens in the treatment room. Dan talks about safety, preparation, and “preconditioning” before an elective procedure, plus how to think clearly about clinic quality when so many options now appear online. We also discuss what results can look like over time, how “rounds” work, and why patient support after treatment can make or break the experience.  If this sparked a question or challenged what you thought you knew, subscribe, share this with a friend who’d actually benefit from hearing it, and leave a review so more listeners can find the show. A Match.com Scientist Explains How Singles Date Today #132

One statistic stopped us cold: a meaningful slice of American singles say they’ve had a “romantic relationship” with AI, not just a quick chat or a joke, but ongoing emotional companionship and intimate conversation. That’s where our conversation with Dr. Amanda Gesselman goes first, and it opens a bigger question about what connection looks like in 2026 when dating, sex, and technology keep colliding. Dr. Gesselman leads Sex and Relationship Science at Match.com and researches intimacy at the Kinsey Institute, so she’s not guessing, she’s working from the annual Singles in America survey.  We get into how Gen Z, millennials, Gen X, and baby boomers differ on sexual activity, committed monogamy, and openness to non-monogamous relationships like open relationships and polyamory. We also talk about age gap relationships and what people actually say they’re looking for when they date someone 10+ years older or younger. Then we shift to porn use and the real-world impact many singles report: unrealistic expectations about bodies, doubts about sexual performance, and pressure that can follow people into new relationships.  From there, we zoom out to dating strategies. Most singles say they’re open to a relationship, but far fewer are actively dating, and the apps are still the dominant path. At the same time, we hear signs of a swing back toward in-person meetups and a jump in people using professional matchmakers. We also unpack the “misconception gap” in heterosexual dating: men feeling assumed to want only casual sex, women feeling assumed to be materialistic, and how that misread creates burnout even while romantic optimism stays stubbornly strong.  If you like research-backed dating advice with real numbers and real nuance, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show. Alluring energy, Flirting and Finding Love #131

Dating can make smart, capable people feel weirdly powerless. One minute you’re hopeful, the next you’re stuck in the texting spiral, overanalyzing every message, and wondering why the spark never turns into something real. I sit down with dating coach Alana McKenzie Page to talk about what actually changes your results, and why “trying harder” often backfires when it’s coming from anxiety and overthinking.  Alana shares how she went from feeling ignored and mismatched for years to building a relationship that felt easy, connected, and genuinely fun. We dig into the idea that dating success is not a personality trait. Flirting, communication, and emotional presence are skills you can learn, whether you need simple tools or deeper support after heartbreak. We also explore her body-based approach from her book The Art of Feminine Seduction, including why getting out of your head and back into your body can help you create chemistry, attraction, and intimacy that lasts beyond a couple of exciting dates.  You’ll also hear practical flirting tips for real life and online dating, why specific compliments beat “Hi how are you,” and a thoughtful take on the dating ick: when it’s a true incompatibility and when it might be a cue to check your own boundaries or emotional availability. If you’re tired of dating apps, craving real connection, and curious about “alluring energy” through a tantric and Taoist lens, this conversation will give you a clearer path forward.
