  1. EP 38: There's Never a Perfect Time

    EP 38: There's Never a Perfect Time

In this week’s episode, Amanda discusses why it’s so important to have a plan when you’re trying to start working for yourself, leave one job in favor of another, start a business, or make any change in one’s professional or personal life. However, she also discusses why it’s equally as important to make sure that your plan has an ending, and that you don’t keep adding conditions to it. There’s no such thing as the “perfect” time to do something, but there’s way to make it almost perfect. She also discusses why it is important to be prepared to start what you want to do (that new job, working for yourself, starting a business), but it’s also important to start faster than you might think and then adjust as you go, and adjust as you grow. EP 34: Leaving Teaching for a Completely Different Industry & Job (I Was Able to Do It in 3 Months; So Can You)

This is the time of year where teachers are being asked whether or not they plan to renew their contracts for the next school year, and this always comes at a tumultuous time with spring fever, proms, graduations, and standardized tests bombarding both teachers and students. This year, it's even more tumultuous as more and more teachers are leaving the profession, and leaving at record rates. This week, I am re-publishing my very first episode that talks about why and how I left teaching. Even if you are not a teacher, this episode has tangible takeaways and step-by-step information that you can follow if you are looking to make a change professionally and even personally.  Thank you to DeviCore for sponsoring this episode of The Pivot Podcast. 3. EP 33: Embrace Being Multi-Faceted

    04/08/2022

    EP 33: Embrace Being Multi-Faceted

In this week’s episode, Amanda discusses why we’ve been conditioned to ignore the fact that as humans, we have a lot of different, diverse interests and these interests will grow, change, and transform, and they will sometimes do this at the same time. She talks about how prior generations were forced to not lean into their multi-faceted desires and interests or any changes that took place within them, and how that’s conditioned us to believe that as well. She works to break this cycle of monotony and includes how this can be pivotal in obtaining your BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goal).
