In this novel, Omar Taher, an Egyptian writer and novelist born in the seventies, discovers the joy of using taste and smell to write the story of an ordinary man. Adolescence, love, homesickness, solitude, marriage, friends, success, loss. There is always a taste or a smell for everything as the main character of this novel describes to us.

    في هذه الحلقة سأتحدث عن كتاب أثر في حياتي اليومية بشكل إيجابي جدا. صحيح أنني أقرأ العديد من الكتب وكل كتاب يعلمنيّ شيئ جديد لم أكن أعرفه من قبل ولكن نادرا ما يؤثر كتاب ما في حياتي اليومية بشكل فعال وإيجابي كما هو حال نظرية الفستق. كتاب بالفعل سيغير طريقة تفكيرك  وحكمك على الأشياء كما يقول كاتبه فهد عامر الأحمدي In this episode of Reading Time, I speak about a book that has had a very positive impact in my daily life. It is true that I read a lot of books and that I learn new things I did not know before of each one of the books I read but it rarely happens that a book has a very effective and positive impact in my life as it has happened to me with this book, "The Pistachio Theory". A book that will change your way of thinking and the way you judge things as the author of such books, Fahd Amer al-Ahmadi says.

    2# Racism in Morocco: العنصرية في المغرب

    العنصرية حقيقة موجودة في كافة المجتمعات بما فيه المجتمع المغربي ولا سيما العنصرية الموجهة ضد الأشخاص ذوي البشرة السوداء. المغاربة ذوي بشرة سوداء يتعرضون لمواقف عنصرية أينما كانوا. لا داعية للقول انّ هذه العنصرية لا تمثل المجتمع المغربي بتاتا ولكن هذا لا يعني أنه علينا أن ننكر وجوده. خلال هذه الحلقة أقابل هدى، مؤسسة "Black Women Bilarabi" (النساء السوداوات بالعربي) التي تحدثنا عن مبادرتها والسبب الذي دفعها لتأسيس هذه المبادرة لمكافحة العنصرية ضمن المجتمع المغربي، كيف تمكنت من تحطيم معايير الجمال للمرأة المغربية وكيف تمكنت من أن تكون صدى وقدوة للعديد من البنات والنساء المغربيات السودوات.نتكلم أيضا عن أصل كلمة "عزيّ" و معناها المهين، عن تمثيل السود في المغرب، عن عدم التعليم والتربية بالنسبة للعنصرية و العديد من المواضيع المشوقة. ابقوا معنا و أجي تسمع  Racism is a reality in all societies, including the Moroccan one, especially racism against black people in Morocco. Black Moroccans are subjected to racist situations wherever the place. Needless to say that this existing racist behaviour doesn't represent the Moroccan society at all but we can't deny the existence of it. In this episode, I interview Houda, the founder of "Black Women Bilarabi" (Black Women in Arabic) and talk with her about her association, why did she establish the latter to fight racism in Morocco, how she has managed to break the Moroccan beauty standars and give a voice to many black Moroccan girls to share their stories. We also talk about the "3azzi" word and how offensive it is, black representation in Morocco, lack of education towards racism and much more. Stay tuned و أجي تسمع !

    فاتحة مرشيد شاعرة و روائية مغربية. هذه الدكتورة المتخصصة في طب الأطفال، أشرفت على إعداد وتقديم برنامج يهتم بالتربية الصحية في الفتاة الثانية المغربية علاوة على برنامج يهتم بالشعر في نفس القناة. تمكنت فاتحة مرشيد من الجمع بين حبها لمهنتها وحبها لشغفها الحقيقي: الشعر. خلال هذه الحلقة أقوم بقراءة بعض الأجزاء من روايتها " لحظات لا غير" قصة حب مميزة تجمع ما بين طبية نفسية ورجل يعاني من مرض نفسي ويزور عيادتها… هل نستطيع بالفعل اختيار الشخص الذي نحبه؟ هل يمكننا بالفعل الجمع ما بين وظائفنا وشغفنا؟ Fatiha Morchid is a Moroccan poet and novelist. Pediatrician by profession, she has established and presented a health care education program for years on the Moroccan TV channel 2M, along with a poetry show on the same station. She has managed to combine her love for her job and her real passion: poetry. In this episode, I read some extracts of her novel لحظات لا غير (Just a few moments) where this author draws us a love story between a psychologist and her patient... Do we really choose who we love? Can we really combine our jobs and our passions?
