Todaystaged Episode: 1 Mental Health during Pandemic; Why and How?

In this episode, we have spoke about Mental Health during Pandemic; Why and How? All of us know that the entire world isn't available like Tony Stark said in avenger infinity war due to excessive lockdowns and social distancing to prevent and bring the pandemic under control. however, every positive side has a negative within, this has lead to mental health issues. During the pandemic, about 4 in 10 adults in the U.S. have reported symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorder, a share that has been largely consistent, up from one in ten adults who reported these symptoms from January to June 2019. A KFF Health Tracking Poll from July 2020 also found that many adults are reporting specific negative impacts on their mental health and well-being, such as difficulty sleeping or eating, increases in alcohol consumption or substance use, and worsening chronic conditions, due to worry and stress over the coronavirus. As the pandemic wears on, ongoing and necessary public health measures expose many people to experiencing situations linked to poor mental health outcomes, such as isolation and job loss. To further discuss, i posted this topic on Quora, and i get a very interesting answer from Madam Katleen Morlock, she has a Masters in Educational Psychology from The University of Oklahoma. She shared her answer with us, so everyone can benefit from it now. Some of the suggestions she made was: Go outside for exercise daily even if its just to walk around the block. Go have coffee with a friend (in places that allow that) or invite a friend to your home for dinner. If you lost your job find another one. In my area there are so many job openings and people aren’t applying because they can still get unemployment. They don’t understand that the unemployment will end soon. If you have time, volunteer somewhere like a community soup kitchen, the animal shelter. You could also check in on people in your neighborhood that became very sick or are very old and find it hard to get out. In my neighborhood, we had a couple write a note to everyone telling them to call if they needed someone to go to the grocery for them. If you have spiritual sources, use them. Go to church or an informal prayer group. If you are still locked down, take the time to take an inventory of your life. Do you need to learn to save money. Do you need to paint your kitchen. Spend more time with your child not watching TV but playing a board game. Make up a game or a “secret language”. Spend more time with your pet. Take your dog for a walk. Learn a new hobby. Feel free to listen to my podcast to know more about it. Below is the link for my social media, feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions are welcomed too.
