    Lyrically Speaking: Niiella

    Lyrically speaking goes behind the lyrics of songs from some of your favourite gospel artists. Lady T challenges each guest to see if they know the words to any of their songs followed by a freestyle. This is a show with insight, wisdom and plenty of laughter. This episode features BET Sunday best finalist and award winning UK gospel artist, Niiella. Niiella started singing from the young age of 3. She grew up in a musical family in England and she sang in the church choir until she started to compose music from the age of fifteen. Niiella has always had a deep rooted love for music, especially Gospel Music. She launched her solo career as a gospel artist in 2012 with her hit single “I believe” She released an album titled Shades Of Mercy in 2016 and has several singles including most recent single titled “Stand With Me” featuring Sounds Of New Wine choir, a UK based group. She also has a song featuring Joe Mettle one of Ghana’s most prominent contemporary artists titled “Obiara Nni Hɔ”. In 2020 Niiella was the sole artist who was selected from the UK to be a part of BETs Sunday Best a singing competition in Atlanta, filmed at Tyler Perry Studios. The show was hosted by Kirk Franklin and had Jonathan McReynolds, Erica Campell of Mary Mary and Kelly Price as judges. Niiella was a top 10 finalist and made it to the live shows which were streamed across all BET channels including BET International and BET Africa.     Lyrically Speaking: Joe Mettle

    Lyrically speaking goes behind the lyrics of songs from some of your favourite gospel artists. Lady T challenges each guest to see if they know the words to any of their songs followed by a freestyle. This is a show with insight, wisdom and plenty of laughter. This episode features award winning Ghanaian gospel artist, Joe Mettle. He is the first Gospel musician to win VGMA Artist of the year in his Genre on April 8, 2017. He has won many awards in Ghana and many other countries. He has been recognized as one of the most successful musicians over the decade. His award for Artiste of the Year was considered historical as he was the first Gospel artiste to win in this category since the conception of these awards. Joe has also won over 10 local and international awards. He has won several awards at Africa Gospel Music Awards, Gospel industry Awards, African Gospel Awards (UK), CCML Ghana Gospel Awards, Bass Awards and RIGA Awards (South Africa). During his early days of singing, he worked as a backing vocalist for some Ghanaian Gospel greats including Cindy Thompson, late Danny Nettey, and Reverend Tom Bright Davies. Joe Mettle was the lead singer for the indigenous multicultural music group, Soul Winners. He has five albums to his credit. They are "My Gratitude" (2011), "Sound of Praise" (2013),"The Encounter" (2015),"God of Miracles" (2017) and "Wind Of Revival" (2019).
