Trauma doesn’t need to halt your life: A new narrative for mental health (with Thayne Martin)

Trauma is not your identity, and at some point it can’t keep being your excuse. That might be hard to hear, but it’s also where your power is.   You’re not broken; staying stuck has become normalized, along with outsourcing our healing and letting diagnoses define who we are. It’s keeping people disconnected from themselves!   In this special podcast episode with Thayne Martin, we talk about what happens when you stop handing your power over to systems, labels, and your past.   We explore a new narrative for mental health, rooted in personal responsibility, nervous system awareness, and the understanding that true healing comes from honoring your past and your power.   Thayne shares his lived experience of surviving extreme childhood trauma, being medicated into a corner, and losing himself in psychiatric diagnoses, only to come back stronger through neuroscience, spirituality, and a radical commitment to his own healing.   Some truths we explore:   • Medication can support you, but it’s not the end of the story • Subconscious memory is a driver of your current symptoms; integrate your shadows instead of avoiding or bypassing them • The power of unconditional love is the highest form of medicine, and it’s always available to you (whether you think you have support or not) • Gratitude isn’t surface-level; it’s a state that rewires your body • “Dare to be second” — allow a Higher Power to lead your life • You don’t need to hit rock bottom to “wake up”   Your past does not disqualify you from becoming all that you are.   Stop asking, “Why did this happen to me?” and start asking, “What am I going to do with it?”   Do you want to stay identified with your pain or become who you actually are?   It’s time to make a decision. Take one thing from this episode and MOVE. That’s how trauma enriches and refines you, rather than being a reason why you “can’t”.   🎧Listen all the way through for a powerful, simple practice that can begin to rewire your body into receiving love, deeply and consistently.   Thank you, Thayne, for being part of this with me!🙏   About your hosts: Thayne Martin is the founder and CEO of itspurelove.com™ and the creator of ELAH™ (pronounced ella)…The Equation of Life and Abundant Happiness. Rooted in his own lived experience with profound trauma, multiple severe mental health diagnoses, identity recovery, integration, and a near-death experience, Thayne created ELAH™ as a practical, neuroscience-informed, gratitude-centered behavior-change system. His work helps individuals, leaders, and organizations return to balance through awareness, emotional regulation, metacognition, intentional action, repetition, and gratitude. Should you rest when you're tired…or connect with something deeper?

Tiredness is an invitation to commune.   It’s also an opportunity for receipt, from our own energy and the nourishing, restorative parts of you.   Are you willing to accept fatigue’s invitation?   Ask yourself, “Where does tiredness exist within my body? What does it desire?”   Once it responds:   ~ Do you instantly rest? ~ Do you simply acknowledge it? ~ Do you converse with it? ~ Is it inviting you into deeper communion?   In this new episode of the ‘See through the 5D’ series of the Akashic Musings podcast, I channel the energy of tiredness in 2 ways:   😴The part of me that feels tired 😴The frequency of tiredness itself   I also discuss the important difference in approaching persistent versus momentary tiredness.   Especially for those who have a history of chronic pain or illness, it can be hard to know whether to rest or “push through”.   For those who love to move and groove, the formula discussed in this episode prevents your subconscious from creating tiredness to sabotage your momentum.   🎧Listen in to expand your consciousness AND your vibrancy!   About your host: Laura Mazzotta (The Akashic Therapist) is a licensed therapist and multidimensional channel of over 22 years, devoted to helping you activate clarity, embody confidence, and reclaim vitality through deep soul alignment. It’s ok to desire attention: Please do, for the good of us all

Wanting attention can be seen as gross, whether we view it as entitlement, an attempt to mend insecurity, or patch up old wounds that someone doesn’t want to fill within themselves.   You get to decide how much energy you place into others’ seeking of attention. That’s entirely up to you and the boundaries you desire to maintain.   Recognize the reflection that arises for you in this scenario: Are you being invited into offering more to yourself than you’re comfortable admitting?   Let’s simplify and redefine the desire for attention, and take it easy on ourselves and others.   Desiring and receiving attention is a basic human need.   We are intentionally wired for receiving attention from others and are meant to come into focused exchange.   When you’re avoiding or dismissing the need for attention, ask yourself: Am I attempting to perform humility? Have I claimed so much independence that I am not as open to the receipt of others? Am I avoiding being seen?   In this new episode of the Akashic Musings podcast, Spirit shares that receiving attention lightens the load of our lives.    It also offers us ready access to opportunity and expanded vision.   CARE about wanting attention. Be demonstrative about it. Giving and receiving go hand in hand, and you can trust that your receipt of attention overflows into service on this plane.   Intentionally choose to receive. What we see as attention in the 3D is resonance in the space of the 5D; when you receive attention, you are coming into met resonance with another energy on this plane.   When you push away attention, you are pushing away resonance and choosing to keep yourself safe and “small”.   The more our resonance meets, the more it expands, contributing to the ever-expanding universe and frequency of unified love.   About your host: Laura Mazzotta (The Akashic Therapist) is a licensed therapist and multidimensional channel of over 22 years, devoted to helping you activate clarity, embody confidence, and reclaim vitality through deep soul alignment. Holding Steady in Collective Chaos (with Cassandra Quick)

We can’t breathe our way out of collective trauma. Presence is the work. In this episode, we explore how being energetically with yourself and others creates real grounding, healing, and impact — even in collective chaos. You’ll be guided into simple ways to practice presence, how to identify what energy is actually yours, and how to move with what arises instead of avoiding it. We talk about nervous system recalibration, essence-to-essence coherence, and why clarity comes when you allow energy to do the work. This is an invitation to soften, to trust your body, to invite God into the small moments, and to remember that you are not broken — your body is intuitive, and everything you’re experiencing is guiding you somewhere deeper. Next Steps: Move into the next moment, and take action based on what comes forward, when you’re present with yourself. Make a list of where you’re already present. Check out the Presence Process book mentioned in this episode   About your hosts: Cassandra Quick is an EMDR-certified somatic trauma therapist and Executive Embodiment Coach who bridges the science of nervous system healing with the deeper identity work that sets high-performing women free from survival mode. With over 20 years of clinical and coaching experience, she helps women who have built extraordinary lives on the outside finally feel it on the inside, moving from performing competence while internally falling apart to leading and living from regulated, embodied power. The Void is a Playground (with Freda Maletsky)

Maybe you’re in a “void space” or maybe you’re in the pause as something beautiful unfolds.   “The void” is often perceived as a loss of direction; a place where next steps aren’t visible, momentum feels halted, and the mind begins searching for answers that haven’t arrived yet.   In that space it’s easy to believe that nothing is happening, but this is rarely the case.   In this episode of the Akashic Musings Podcast, I sit down with energy healer and divine light channel Freda Maletsky for a raw, honest conversation about endings, new beginnings, and the in-between space that can feel simultaneously unclear, uncomfortable, and deeply transformative.   We explore the subtle (and powerful) difference between a stagnant void and what is actually a living, breathing space of curiosity, creation, and unfolding.   We address: Where you’ve been rushing yourself out of the unknown How your nervous system responds when clarity isn’t immediate What it looks like to meet yourself with compassion in the in-between How play and presence are portals back into self-trust   We get to hold BOTH a deep trust in the divine as embodied souls AND our human experience and desire for tangible results.   Within that duality, a powerful reframing emerges; the void isn’t an absence, but a curious playground to experience and discover.   If you find yourself in a season where things feel muddy, slow, or undefined, this conversation is your reminder to slow down, trust what’s already in motion, and stay present with what’s right in front of you.   Because even here, something magical is unfolding.    About your hosts:   Freda Maletsky spent the majority of her life wanting to die. Through a devotion to healing she transcended suffering and moved into a place of inner peace, living life from a foundation of love and unity consciousness. Freda is a lightworker, semi-trance voice channel, healer, artist, writer, illustrator, divine light channel, lady who talks to trees, intuitive medium and a work in progress. Not Everything Is Yours: Discernment, Awakening & Returning to Your Center (with Tammy Waldron)

Something is waking up right now. What used to be hidden is no longer hidden. Spirit keeps saying, “The truth is here”.   It’s not news that we are navigating collective intensity, and Tammy Waldron and I are here to tell you, not everything you’re feeling in response to this is yours.   In this new episode of the Akashic Musings Podcast, Tammy and I discuss the importance of sovereignty, nervous system awareness, and what it means to return to your center during chaotic times.   We explore: • Discernment: what is mine… and what have I been carrying that isn’t? • Why neutrality is power • How frequency alone can process what analysis cannot • When emotions need to be seen, heard, felt…and when they just need to move • Instant alchemy (the average emotion is only meant to last 90 seconds) • Service over self-focus in this season of transformation   One of the most potent reminders in this episode:   When we return to the center of the storm, we liberate ourselves by 1) anchoring into the frequency that untangles things naturally and 2) no longer personalizing every wave.   Most importantly: You are profoundly precious to this unfolding. You are not meant to do this alone. And you are capable of instant alchemy.   If you’re navigating spiritual expansion, emotional waves, shadow material, or feeling overwhelmed by what’s surfacing right now, this episode is here to ground you.   Listen with your eyes closed; feel the frequency instead of trying to understand it. This is a brilliant opportunity to return to remembrance.    About your hosts: Tammy Waldron, M.Ed., IFS-informed energy healing teacher, is the founder of Towanda Wellbeing and the RISE Intuitive Healing Arts Center. She guides therapists and leaders to integrate nervous system, emotions, mind, and spirit—embracing emotions as teachers and creating embodied transformation that ripples through lives and communities. Why You Can’t Feel Spirit in Your Body — Nervous System Regulation & Embodiment (with Meg Tobin, LMHC)

If you’ve been trying to connect with Spirit but still feel anxious, disconnected, or stuck in your head… this is why.   Your nervous system doesn’t feel safe yet.   In this conversation with Meg Tobin (LMHC), we explore embodiment, trauma healing, and why nervous system regulation is key to feeling the deep and palpable connection with Spirit that lives within you.   We talk about:   • Growing into feeling safe in your body • Co-regulation and learning to drop into the body in relationship • Why the opposite of addiction is connection • Internal Family Systems and reparenting our triggered parts • Viewing triggers as excess nervous system energy, not your identity • Challenging narratives formed from a cognitively young place • Why regulation has to be practiced when you’re not activated • Honoring your pace and your seasons • Making small choices that quietly rebuild self-trust and agency   This episode is about learning to stay.   With your body. With your sensations. With your triggers. With yourself.   Because when you choose to love yourself, whether you’re joyful, creative, overwhelmed, or upset, you begin forming a new, safe relational experience internally.   If the only time you attend to yourself is when you’re overwhelmed, your system learns that activation is how it gets love.   You were designed to live in reflection. In sensation. In connection.   This conversation is about creating a steadier relationship with yourself — one that feels present, grounded, and spiritually connected.   If you desire deeper intuition, embodied spirituality, nervous system healing, and true connection…listen all the way through.   About your hosts:   Meg Tobin, LMHC, is a somatic psychotherapist, retreat leader, and end-of-life doula who helps people regulate their nervous systems and heal trauma at its roots. She is the founder of Breathing Space Psychotherapy, where she offers therapy intensives and transformational retreats designed for deep, embodied change. Meg is passionate about blending neuroscience, spirituality, and practical tools to help high-achieving women slow down, reconnect, and come home to themselves. Life Doesn’t Stop When You’re Diagnosed: Holistic Healing, Chronic Illness & Inner Power (with Dani Whelly)

In this episode of The Akashic Musings Podcast, I’m joined by Dani Whelly for an expansive conversation about chronic illness, holistic healing, and the moment life actually begins, when you stop living on autopilot and start listening inward.   There’s no ceiling to feeling your happiest, healthiest, and most passionate. Yet so many of us are taught to shrink our expectations of what’s possible in the body.   The answer for physical healing is inside of you. It’s about shifting the messages your body is giving you into power, with patience and grace. Chronic illness is often a depressed state interlaced with people pleasing and accommodation, and this episode is an invitation to reclaim yourself on every level: physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually.   We explore how Reiki can be a powerful gateway into deeper healing, how the nervous system learns through repetition, and how small wins stretch the mind, body, and soul. You’ll also hear why you can trust medical expertise while still advocating for yourself, honoring intuition, and exploring spirituality, energy healing, and holistic health.   Life doesn’t stop when you realize you’re sick. It starts.   Mentioned in this episode: The Big Leap book by Gay Hendricks: https://amzn.to/4kaYRC6   Danielle Whelly is a mind–body healer and coach who blends science and soul through nervous system support and spiritual and energetic practices. She helps people create lasting transformation by reconnecting with themselves when they’re 1) healing from burnout or chronic health challenges, 2) ready to level up and create meaningful change, or feel unsure, overwhelmed, or don't know where to start.   Connect with Danielle through her Mountains of Wellness Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/share/17piU5oiuE/ or her website: www.mountainsofwellness.com
