The debut novel of Indian diplomat, Vikas Swarup’s was made into Oscar winning film SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. It was also turned into a rather good radio serial “Q&A”, first heard here on Radio 4. Now the team behind the Sony award-winning “Q&A” has gone to work on Swarup’s second novel – SIX SUSPECTS. Inspired by a true story, it’s a murder mystery set in modern day India… presented by investigative journalist, Arun Advani.

He is following the story of Vicky Rai, a nasty trust fund baby who shoots a waitress for not serving him a drink. Across the ten episodes, Arun weaves a tale of the lives Vicky Rai has destroyed as he tries to solve the murder of a murderer.

A man with no memory finds himself outside a flat in a tenement block in Mumbai. With no idea of who he is or how he got there he tries, with the help of a street-child, to piece together fragments of his life. A thriller from writer/director John Dryden set and recorded on the streets of Mumbai.

This episode is part two of our two part special: The Chosen one. In the last episode, Prithi joined Ravi Baba’s religious commune. She was asked to give up her possessions and her phone and begin the process of abandoning who she once was; to discover her identity within the community. She had her own agenda however and snuck off to make a call on a phone she’d hidden from them. When she was caught she was taken away in the night and left in the dark.  In this episode, we find out Prithi’s purpose and her fate as she comes face to face with Ravi Baba.

Is she a police informer trying to gather evidence against the group, a journalist trying to get a scoop or does she have some other agenda?

In the last episode, Alia and Ratna tracked the killer down to the college. While they were interviewing suspects there another student, Meenakshi, turned up dead on the roof. Alia worked out that the killer must have thrown her off the roof and then dragged her back up to the top so she was looking at the flag of India. And beforehand Meenakshi had been stopped from coming forward to the police by her friend Faisal. Circling on the killer's motive and MO, Alia and Ratna turn their attention to Faisal.
