    Death Becomes Her (1992) (Featuring Hayleigh Kurland and Danielle Brown)

    As we crawl across the finish line of Schlocktobermess, Christopher and Scott are joined by Danielle Brown and Hayleigh Kurland to discuss 1992's delightfully gross romp "Death Becomes Her". Discussions are had about more juvenile employees in the work force, why Bruce Willis was uniquely perfect for this role, and some likes it hot. Scott then regales all with a story of a haunted hotel in Los Angeles (not that one) (no, not that one, either).

    The Frighteners (1996) (Featuring Jonathan Kesselman)

    Schlocktobermess rolls along as Christopher and Scott are once again joined by friend of the pod Jonathan Kesselman (Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, The Hebrew Hammer) to discuss 1996's uneven but fun horror comedy romp The Frighteners. Christopher gets distracted with his true crime interest and the parallels between this film and a real life killer, Scott gives Clint Howard his knightly due, and Jonathan tries to convince them both to visit an allegedly haunted house in Central Massachusetts. All in all, another typical episode around these parts.

We're joined this week by fellow regional horror enthusiasts from the hosts of the Weirdo Wednesday Podcast, Rob, Bex, and Dan, as we dive into a very fun slice of 70s Vincent Price action. Come to hear us talk about a really fun horror comedy that's as fun to look at as it is to watch, and stay to hear us discuss such topics as new band names, the badassery that is Vulnavia, and perhaps maybe we even discover just who was phone!     Re-Animator (1985) (Featuring Allison White and Jarrod Staples)

    Schlocktoberfest rolls along as Christopher and Scott are joined by Allison White (Garbage Day Horror) and Jarrod Staples (World of Commotion) to discuss 1985's "Lovecraft-based" "classic", Re-Animator. Come for the schlock, and stay for the talk of refrigerator pigs, what lobotomies actually do (hint: it's mind control), and perhaps the youngest KFC/Taco Bell employee on the eastern seaboard.

    We're back in action for our fifth season, subtitled Schlocktoberfest. Each week we'll report on the blood splattering and the guts spilling, beginning with this year's own "The Monkey". Written and directed by Oz Perkins and released after his (inexplicable to us) victory lap after the strange amount of acclaim achieved by "Longlegs", "The Monkey" regardless cements his reputation as a horror creator who can make bank. We're joined by Jon Reilly of Life's But a Song podcast as we parse this aggressive horror comedy and discuss the weirdoes of Maine and customer service at Friendly's restaurants.

    Silence of the Lambs (1991)

    As we wrap up our Killer Month, Scott and Christopher discuss The Silence of the Lambs with returning guest Hayleigh Kurland. Amongst the discussion some hard hitting topics come about, such as the hygiene process of an imprisoned Hannibal Lecter, sneaking one's way into employment at Quantico (please do not do this), and Something of a Ghostly Nature™.     Se7en (1995)

    This is a bit of a chaotic episode as Christopher missed the memo on the recording time, and was late to the party and not prepared with notes. Scott heroically rose to the challenge and led the charge and guided his tardy co-host as well as returning guest Jonathan Kesselman (Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, The Hebrew Hammer) through a discussion of 1995's classic, Se7en. Also on the table were talks about the gritty life of a grocery store detective, Gwyneth Paltrow's involvement in a "Dungeons & Dragons is going to kill you" TV movie, and Jonathan even invited a fourth guest: ChatGPT. Strap in. 'Ernest Hemingway once wrote, “The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.” I agree with the second part.'

    The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976)

    Continuing on with It's a Killer Month™, Christopher and Scott welcome Allison White (@allisonwhtartist and @garbagedayhorror) to discuss the 1976 film The Town that Dreaded Sundown. A more fitting name, perhaps, would be The Town that Dreaded Interesting Films, or The Town that Begat Officer Spark Plug. Lots of fun is had as we more or less tear this admittedly influential film apart and discuss things like drunk narrators, not understanding when too much comic relief is a bad thing, and mainly Spark Plug. We talk a lot about Spark Plug.
