    447 - Peacemaker or Peacekeeper? - Virginia Prodan

    🎙️ COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP WITH VIRGINIA PRODAN #PODCST PEACEMAKER OR PEACEKEEPER? What is the difference between a peacekeeper and a peacemaker? It sounds like a simple question—but when conflict becomes personal, the answer can challenge us deeply. A peacekeeper may seek to avoid conflict, maintain the appearance of harmony, or keep everyone comfortable. A peacemaker is willing to step into difficult places, confront what is broken, pursue truth, extend forgiveness, and work toward genuine reconciliation. And sometimes, peacemaking is uncomfortable. In this episode of Courageous Leadership with VIRGINIA PRODAN, we explore what it really means to choose peace—not simply to keep the peace. That question connects deeply with the story behind my memoir, Saving My Assassin. My story is about far more than legal resistance to a violent regime. It is also about what happens when we choose courage, forgiveness, faith, and a radically different response to those who seek to harm us. So I want to ask you a personal question: Think about a conflict in your life right now. Maybe it is in your family. Maybe it is at work. Maybe it is within your community. Maybe it is a relationship that has become difficult. Ask yourself: Am I simply keeping the peace—or am I courageously making peace? Because sometimes keeping the peace means remaining silent. But peacemaking may require us to speak the truth, choose courage, extend grace, and take the first step toward reconciliation. He is an award-winning filmmaker, who made his 1986 Hollywood debut as Matthew Broderick’s dance double in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”  He quickly landed recurring guest roles on the popular 90’s shows, “Growing Pains” and “Tour of Duty”, and then appeared in numerous television and movie roles over the next several decades.  He directed the prescient films “Border” which screened for Congress in 2007, and “Death County and the River of Broken Dreams” that screened for Congress, in 2023. In 2021 he also directed Capitol Punishment: Everything They Told You About J6 Was A Lie, for which, he did not earn an Oscar, but did end up being investigated by the FBI as a national security threat to the United States of America after a big tip was called into the National Threat Operations Center.     Welcome to Courageous Leadership with Virginia Prodan #Podcast with our guest - Chad Hennings Chad Hennings is - Three-time Super Bowl champion, Air Force veteran, business leader, Author. Chad Hennings' successes began long before his professional football career. An accomplished lineman in high school, Hennings was offered full scholarships from universities across the nation. Instead, he chose to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he racked up numerous honors academically and on the gridiron. Hennings’ exemplary achievements put him at the top of many draft lists and earned him a spot on the Dallas Cowboys’ roster, but Hennings postponed his entry into the National Football League to fulfill his commitment to the U.S. Air Force. He entered the Euro-NATO program, a training program for top pilots, and soon found himself at the controls of the A-10 Thunderbolt. During his four-year stint with the Air Force, Hennings flew 45 missions in support of Operation Provide Comfort in northern Iraq, an effort that helped provide relief and humanitarian aid to Kurdish refugees. He received two aerial achievement medals, a humanitarian award and an outstanding unit award for his actions in the service. After his discharge, Hennings joined the Dallas Cowboys, quickly earning a starting position as a defensive lineman. He spent his entire 9-year professional football career with the Cowboys, retiring in 2001 with three Super Bowl rings. Since his retirement from the NFL, Hennings has found success as a commercial real estate professional, management consultant and motivational speaker. He established Wingmen Ministries, a Christian men’s group, in Dallas-Fort Worth and is active in community affairs, including work with veterans’ organizations, at risk kids, and families who are struggling to make ends meet. Hennings is the author of three books, “It Takes Commitment,” “Rules of Engagement – Finding Faith and Purpose in a Disconnected World,” and “Forces of Character.” He lives in Texas with his wife Tammy.
