    I talk with LeeAnn Love, artist, art therapist and LPC, about the challenges of balancing trust in spirit, your inner knowing, and the income realities when you're a creative-based spiritual solopreneur. LeeAnn shares her success story and a tool she has used to maintain a business that honors her values while also balancing the income needs every business owner has. She also talks about some of the "woo woo" techniques she has used with her clients and herself to maintain health and wellbeing. As an art therapist and art educator, she has dedicated her life to storytelling and meaning making through the visual arts, both in her own arts expression, as well as, in helping others tell their stories, providing healing and empowerment through art. LeeAnn created Heal with heART, her art therapy private practice in Nashville, as well as founded MyCanvas, a mobile youth community art therapy program, serving at-risk youth in the greater Nashville area. She consults with HAPI, the Healing Arts Project Inc, providing art therapy workshops for adults in recovery from mental health and substance abuse issues. LeeAnn has exhibited her artwork nationally and internationally and has led many community mural projects in the greater Boston and Nashville areas. Additionally, LeeAnn teaches at Trevecca University and supervises new art therapists, to continue to shape and impart knowledge to upcoming arts leaders and therapists.

    I talk with Candice Bakx-Friesen who is a realtor and started a money coaching business called Investor Smarts. She shares the challenges of work-life balance, being a working mother and entrepreneur, and the stigma or fear of being labeled a failure for trying something like a job or starting a business and realizing it's not for you and quitting to try something else. It's interesting how our jobs are so often tied to our identity and when we lose a job or find ourselves no longer fulfilled in a job, and/or want to change careers, we can have an identity crisis. We are more than what we do for a living. And our values, interests and needs change in different phases of our lives. Telling people what you want and are looking for is necessary in a successful career change.     It's my first episode! I interview a good friend and badass artist and author, Tarri Driver and we talk about all sorts of things people struggle with when changing careers like fear of failure, fear of taking the leap to change careers, asking yourself in your mid 30s, "What am I doing?", not wanting to ask for help, mindfulness and being present, finding joy in work, and what does success really mean? Tarri's bio: Tarri Driver majored in fine arts, with an emphasis on painting and a minor in psychology. She then earned a master’s degree in education with a focus on expressive therapies. Before becoming a full-time artist and writer, she spent a decade working with children and adolescents in schools and a children’s hospital as a board-certified, registered art therapist and licensed professional counselor. Her unique experiences as an artist and former therapist have influenced the genesis and evolution of her children’s book character, Lunar Mooner Lula. She has two Lunar Mooner Lula books coming out mid-November; Lunar Mooner Lula in the Forest and Lunar Mooner Lula in Space. They’ll both be available on Amazon. The Lula series is a richly illustrated, advanced early reader series, layered with meaning that children and adults will find both entertaining and rewarding.     Welcome to my new podcast! I wanted to introduce myself and share what the podcast will be about and why I wanted to do it.  This podcast is for folks who want to gain inspiration, wisdom, tips, best practices, and camaraderie with others who have or want to follow their intuition, passions, spirit, higher selves, etc... when it comes to work. Life is too short to be miserable every day at work, OR just to know you're not following what you're meant to do or aren't feeling fulfilled or are at a job that is not/no longer in alignment with your values, beliefs, needs. Some people need help recognizing what their intuition/spirit is trying to tell them. Some people are at the point where they know what they need to do and just need courage and encouragement to take the leap and knowledge on how/where/what to do. It can be scary to follow your intuition and take the leap to a new job or career and the journey ain't easy! But it's SOOOO worth it!
