Jen's Zen ,

Tia’s Mom Here

What’s it been now Tia? Fourteen years of dealing with cancer? And you’re still battling it, still accepting and moving on with it as if it’s just a part of life, which it is of course. But nobody does it better than you.

You take it on the chin and come back with your special kind of Tia-sass. You looked around to find a way to help others with this ghastly process and to make it more of a warrior’s positive approach rather than doom and gloom.

You and Jodi share all the minutiae of daily living with cancer, all the things that can’t be learned from pamphlets. Things like how to deal with those pesky drain tubes and how to sit upright in bed to vomit so it won’t come out your nose, and about the never ending struggle with edema prevention after lymph node removal. Those are real things that came along to smack you in the face like a wet mackerel! But you’ve managed to figure it all out and can now help ease others burdens.
So your IV pole is now named Fred Astaire and you are Ginger Rogers as you try to take Fred to the bathroom during treatment.

That’s you Tia…finding the humor everywhere to make others laugh with you.
And that, dear child, is why you have such truly wonderful and downright awesome friends. Because to know you is to love you.
Your humor can be slapstick and it can be truly droll! But whichever it is at the moment, it keeps everyone laughing and wanting to be near you.

You are the Poster Child of Positivity. And you are mine! I cannot express how proud I am to have been chosen to be your Mom. WooHoo!

Keep up the good work girls! Carry on and Keep Stompin’ Cancer!
