Questioning the Bible’s stance on same-sex attraction or premarital sex? This podcast series debunks the myths propagated by conservative churches. We expose the shameful use of Old Testament verses to condemn gay Christians and spotlight Biblical scriptures that affirm sexual diversity. Yes, there are pro-LGBTQIA+ scriptures. And NOWHERE in the Gospel does Jesus forbid premarital sex, same-sex marriages, or female priests. If your faith and sexuality seem at odds, these podcasts may help. Too many churches teach a cultural gospel, a false gospel, that Jesus never preached.

    64. Why Did God Create Queer People?

What if human diversity wasn't an accident, but a deliberate part of divine design? In ancient times, anyone unable to produce biological heirs was dismissed as a "dry tree"—a spiritual and relational dead end. But when we look closely at scripture through an affirming lens, a very different picture emerges. In this episode, we tackle the big question: Why did God intentionally create queer and gender-diverse people? Join us as we unpack key theological frameworks that challenge traditional binary thinking: The Principle of Spectrum: How ancient Hebrew poetic devices (like pairing "day and night" or "land and sea") were meant to encompass the full watercolor spectrum in between—including dawn, dusk, estuaries, and the richness of human identity. Co-Creation with the Divine: Exploring the idea that diversity is an invitation to actively participate in continuous creation and transformation. Reflecting the Infinite (Imago Dei): How no single narrow box can capture God, and how human variety reflects an uncontainable, infinite Creator. Whether you're wrestling with your own faith journey, seeking affirming perspectives, or curious about scriptural interpretation, this conversation offers a fresh, grounded look at inclusion and divine purpose. 🎧 Listen now, subscribe, and share with someone who needs to hear this today!

    63. Sodom Misused to Condemn the Queer Community (3 min.)

The most famous "clobber verse" in history doesn't say what many churches claim. For centuries, Genesis 19 has been weaponized as a primary text to condemn same-sex relationships and the LGBTQ+ community. But when you sit down and look strictly at the literal Hebrew text, a clear contradiction emerges between what the story actually says and how it’s used today. In this 3-minute episode of The Queer Christian, we break down: The Demographic Proof: Why an entire city's male population—teenagers, fathers, and grandfathers—proves this mob was not motivated by sexual orientation. The Real Sin: How violent xenophobia, abuse of power, and the catastrophic failure of hospitality were turned upside down over time. The Inversion: How a scripture written to condemn the victimization of vulnerable outsiders was forged into a weapon to victimize them further. Stop the weaponization of scripture by learning what the text actually says. 💬 What are your thoughts on how Genesis 19 has been reframed? Share your perspective in the comments below!

    61. The Queer Eunuch

Pastor Erina kicks off Pride Month by queering the story of the Ethiopian eunuch, and affirming God's radical welcome for those who disrupt binaries and social conventions. How might we continue to hold onto the radical legacy of queer, trans, and nonbinary ancestors who sought God even when it seemed impossible? 60. $2B "Levitical" Mega-Project?

What happens when ancient laws clash with modern urban planning? In this episode, we dive into a fascinating thought experiment that is playing out in real-time in Vancouver, British Columbia. This podcast contrasts a Biblical mandate in Leviticus 25:23—which explicitly forbids the permanent sale of land, asserting that humans are merely tenants and stewards— with the Squamish Nation reclaiming their ancestral territory to build Senakw. Senakw is the largest First Nations economic development project in Canadian history: an unapologetically massive, ultra-dense, net-zero carbon mega-project. Because it is being built entirely on designated reserve land, it completely bypasses the city's strict traditional zoning bylaws. But with density projections five times higher than Canada's current highest-density neighborhoods, the project has sparked a fierce debate. Is this sustainable, earth-centric urban design an inspiring triumph of indigenous reclamation, or an infrastructural recipe for disaster as critics claim? In this episode, we discuss: The staggering $20B economics and architecture of the Senakw development. The density debate: Why urban planners are sounding the alarm on liveability. The ultimate question: Would our cities be better managed if we followed ancient rules of stewardship?

    59. Evangelical Pastor Chooses His Gay Son

What happens when a deeply held, traditional evangelical worldview collides with the unconditional love a father has for his son? In this deeply personal and revealing episode, we explore the life-altering journey of Rev. Bill White. For years, Bill was entrenched in the traditional evangelical world—pastoring, preaching, and holding strict theological views. But everything shifted in 2015 when his son came out as gay. Through Bill’s story, we unpack a high-stakes collision of faith, family, and identity. This is more than just a theological debate; it is a raw examination of what it means to truly, honestly evaluate one's beliefs when they are challenged by the people we love most. In this episode, we discuss: The overwhelming pressure of reconciling faith with unconditional parental love. The "clash of worlds" when professional ministry structures meet personal reality. The surprising scientific data regarding family rejection and youth mental health—and why this issue is a matter of life and death. How Bill found a new lens through which to read scripture, focusing on grace and inclusion rather than exclusion. If you are a parent, a church leader, or anyone navigating the complex intersection of faith and LGBTQ+ inclusion, this story offers a powerful, vulnerable look at choosing love over rigid certainty.
