Canary P.I.

Canary P.I is a fun, not-so-serious audio drama of one-off ghoulish mysteries in a 1930s-40s noir setting. It’s got some depth to balance out its wise guy bravado. Private investigator Canary is up for investigating any spectral mystery provided there’s a big fat check. He doesn’t seek out the weird and wily; the cases come to him like a New Yorker to a New York bagel. Each episode follows a different case, where we get to experience a different flavor of Canary’s quick sarcasm. Apparitions of jewels, the lamentful tale of an immortal werewolf, disappearing cargo on the sea. . . the tales have scope and shifts in tone. But overall keeps up its candid tone with wisecracks too fast to know what hit ya. I enjoyed the imaginative, somewhat simple scooby-doo mysteries. But I love the use of language: quick and meaty like a well-pressed panini.

What a treat for us listeners! Canary, P.I.’s writing, acting, casting, and production SHINE with Mr. Henry’s talent and craft, his obvious passion and meticulous effort. Henry’s got “it”. Across the board. I’m looking forward, enthusiastically, to his next projects.

This is a gem of a show! Everything about it is top notch, story, voice acting and production.

I was amazed by the great sound production and the startling number of voice actors. The story was gripping and nostalgic like all good noir. Definitely bingeworthy.
