stop copying other photographers … how to find your style :)

If you were to remove your tag on Instagram, would anyone know that you took the photograph?  That's what we're talking about today, how to find YOUR creative style, not just one you copied from someone else on social media. In this episode, I’m diving into what it really takes to build a recognisable visual identity and why downloading Lightroom presets is only the tip of the iceberg. From documenting moments backstage to finding inspiration in places that aren't the internet, I'm breaking down how to step away from copying what's trending and build an aesthetic that stands entirely on its own. I’m also spotlighting 5 of my fellow photographers who I think have super clear and distinctive visual identities, which help them to stand out in a chaos filled algorithm.  Plus, I share why someone telling me at university that all my photos looked "the same" was actually the best compliment in disguise and how muscle memory takes over during rapid 2:00 AM festival edits.
