October 25, 2026 Home Grown: Legacy

Question: What are we really preparing our children for? Central Truth: We aren’t just raising kids. We’re raising followers of Jesus Scripture: Psalm 127 (Main Scripture); Matthew 7; 1 Samuel 1; Mark 8:36 Truth #1 - You can build a house that looks successful and still miss what matters most. · Your children will learn what matters to you long before they understand everything you teach them. Truth #2 - Don’t get so busy building a life for your children that you miss building a life with your children. · You can give your children everything money can buy and still fail to give them what money can't buy. Truth #3 - Our children are gifts to steward, not lives to control. · Our job isn't to raise children who become everything we want them to be. Our job is to help them become who God has called them to be. Truth #4 - What you put in your children now is what they’ll carry with them later. · What we celebrate in our children teaches them what we value. Truth #5 - We don't prepare arrows to keep them. We prepare them to release them. · We trust the Lord to build our homes. We have to trust Him when our kids leave them. Quick Links: theroad.tv/response - Have questions or need prayer? October 11, 2026 Home Grown: Relationship Rules

Central Truth: The greatest legacy we leave our children is not what we give them, but what we build into them. Scripture: Romans 6:1-14 Family Rule #1—We deal with emotions before they become damaging to our family. · What we let take root in our lives produces fruit in the lives of our children. · We decide that what we pass on is more important than what we are hanging on to. Family Rule #2—Our words build up; they do not tear down. · The magic ratio. · What parents normalize, children internalize. Family Rule #3—We will practice kindness. · Kindness notices needs and responds with grace. · When you practice kindness in the home you produce kindness in the rest of life. Family Rule #4—We will practice forgiveness. · Healthy families are not families that live without conflict, they are families that know how to forgive. · Forgiveness reduces friction in the home. October 4, 2026 Breaking the Cycle of Generational Sins

Central Question: How do I break the cycle of generational sin? Central Truth: It may not have started with us, but through Jesus it can stop with us. Scripture: Romans 6:1-14 · Every family tree that carries blessing also carries brokenness. · Some battles didn’t begin with us, but they’ve shown up in us · What I excuse in myself, I risk normalizing in my kids. Jesus doesn’t just forgive our past. He changes what has authority over our future. What was handed to me. Jesus didn’t erase my history. He gave me a new identity stronger than my history. What showed up in me. My history may explain my reaction, but it doesn’t excuse my response. What I’m handing down. What I refuse to surrender to Jesus, I risk reproducing in my kids. What can begin with me. You can’t change the generations before you, but through Jesus you can influence the generations after you. Quick Links: theroad.tv/response - Have questions or need prayer? September 13, 2026 Break the Cycle: Breaking the Cycle of Sin

September 13, 2026 – Breaking The Cycle — Breaking the Cycle of Sin Series: Breaking the Cycle Title: Breaking the Cycle of Sin Question: How can I win the battle within? Central Truth: Salvation is instant, but transformation is a process. My spirit was brought to life in a moment, but my soul is learning day by day to submit to the Spirit of God. Key Thoughts • The battle with sin takes place in our mind, will, and emotions. • Our old patterns have been developing for years, so we should get ready for a fight. • The battle is ultimately about who is going to lead my life. • We bring the soul under the control of the spirit by changing what we feed it. • We must stop feeding the wrong things and start feeding the right things. • Transformation takes time, truth, discipline, and often accountability. Discussion Questions Why do you think Christians sometimes become discouraged or even question their salvation when they continue to struggle with sin? How does understanding the difference between justification, sanctification, and glorification help us understand that struggle? The message says, “The battle is over who will control my life—my soul or my spirit.” What does it look like when your mind, will, or emotions are controlling you instead of the Spirit? Which of those three—mind, will, or emotions—is usually the biggest battleground for you? What are some patterns, reactions, or habits from your “old life” that can be difficult to change even after becoming a follower of Jesus? Why does simply knowing something is wrong not always make it easy to stop? “The soul is brought under control of the spirit when we change what we feed it.” What are some things we regularly feed our minds and emotions that make our battle with sin harder? Are there things you need to stop feeding in your life? What does it practically look like to “start feeding the right things”? Beyond reading the Bible, what habits, relationships, or disciplines have helped strengthen your walk with God? “Salvation is instant, but transformation is a process.” How does that truth give you both encouragement and responsibility in your battle with sin? What is one specific area where you sense God calling you to stop feeding the old life and begin feeding the new? Quick Links: theroad.tv/response - Have questions or need prayer?
