Fourth Sunday of Advent - Year C in the Catholic Church

We close out the year with promises of the coming of the Messiah to God's people from the lineage of King David, we hear the explanation of the purpose of the messiah's coming, and we see the response to such wondrous news lived out in the visitation as told by St. Luke. Christmas is around the corner, and this week's readings help us understand, "What? So what? And now what?" when it comes to the way we ought to live our lives as followers of Christ.

Second Week of Advent, Year C in the Catholic Church

This week, we see continuations of themes from the first week: re-naming as a means of re-defining purpose; continuation of the work God started in us and in the world; and God's salvation coming in the low moment and showing us our reason to rejoice. Email the show: aftermasspod@gmail.com
