I tried really hard to wait and write a review to make try and make the review as constructive a possible. The format of the podcast I love. Do a deep dive into the characters history, places that may get glossed over or never discussed in game, and discuss the finer points in a subsequent podcast. The format lends itself to revelations one might never had thought of and possible thought provoking tangents living on the edge of existentialism. A solid foundation that can be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, for me, there are items I cannot get past. There are mic issues throughout the episodes I listened to. I have to turn my radio nearly all the way up to hear anything. I started to attribute this to other issues, radio, me, equipment in between, but this is the only audio source I have this issue with. To compound the issue, the volume goes from making me feel deaf to someone talking real close to mic and with my volume cranked basically comes out as yelling. In one episode there was a fish tank sound in the background, I do not know if this was intentional, but it was kind of distracting to the ear with audio problems abound. For the historical episodes, some practice reading the material before recording is definitely needed. Reading right from your material is not the best way to present this. Notes about what you want to say and then only referring to notes would give a much more natural flow to the content and not stilted and jarred as it is presented. There are mistakes I struggle to get around, that ultimately led to me not finishing the podcast. Pronunciation and the verbal confirmation of not bothering to learn to correctly pronounce names is a big one for me. When corrected there is a “Whatever.” thrown out and this attitude detracts from taking the speaker seriously. The names are not hard and if pronunciation is a struggle, taking some time to learn them or at least acknowledge your are trying to learn them would go a long way. These names are said in game and are fairly common for the most part. Research was obviously done in preparation for the episodes. In some of the episodes there are factual mistakes which would have been found if some cross checking was done. Overall, I wanted to like this, I still do. However, I do not see me trying to listen to the rest of the episodes and will move onto something different
