An introduction to Songs in the Key of Life

The human brain and nervous system are hard-wired to distinguish music from noise and to respond to rhythm and repetition, tones, and tunes.  Music it is often said can boost memory, build task endurance, lighten your mood, reduce anxiety and depression, stave off fatigue, improve your response to pain, and help you work out more effectively among many other things. And the songs that litter especially our early life have powerful emotional resonance for the years to come.  Welcome to a new podcast - Songs in the key of life- I’m Al Reid - and each episode I’ll spend time with a different person - any person, from anywhere to find out what are their top 5 songs of all time, and why they have chosen them. Having tried myself it’s a very hard task to narrow down from so many to so few and this is where I suspect a lot of the story lies - what made the top 5 and why.  Each episode will have a top 5 Spotify playlist to accompany. It can be any song, any duration from any era… so tune it, get nostalgic, open your ears and join me and my guests for Songs in the Key of Life. Hosted on Acast.
