Dragon Shanty

It’s shows like this that remind you that the most memorable storytelling is simple. Dragon Shanty is not just a story, it’s a whole vibe, one that gives you warm fuzzies and tells you that it’s ok to slow down and kick your feet up next to the fire while listening to a great story.

The central conceit of the listener being told a story by proxy seems simple, but it’s maddeningly difficult to get quite right. Dragon Shanty does that, and then some. The stories are enthralling, and the storytellers themselves are warm, engaging, and comforting. It’s a surprisingly immersive experience as well.

There is a lot of things to love about Dragon Shanty. From the fairy tale, feel to the narrators using their voice to tell us a story... as if we were IN the story. I feel this take does much more to make me feel a part of the adventure. There is a lot of great world building here, especially the concept of what a Bard is. And, we got dragons here, who doesn't love that! I would 100% recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good, fantasy adventure.

Wonderful story and world, interesting characters, and I absolutely love the feel of this podcast - magical and explorative but also very real and emotional. So looking forward to more!
