Why the Education System Needs Reinvention

Imagine asking a fish to climb a tree, a bird to swim, and an elephant to fly. Then imagine judging them all by the same exam. For generations, education has largely been built around standardization, teaching the same content, at the same pace, and measuring success in much the same way. While this model has helped educate millions, many educators, psychologists, and employers now question whether it fully prepares young people for the realities of today's world. We are entering an era where AI can recall facts in seconds, but it cannot replace human curiosity, empathy, wisdom, resilience, or the ability to make meaning from experience. So perhaps the question is no longer: "How much do students know?" Instead, we should be asking: "Who are they becoming?" In this episode, I am joined by Devi Sahny, education entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, Forbes-featured leader, Georgetown University Board Member, and founder of two global education companies that have supported more than 13,000 students and 120 schools. Together, we explore: 🧠 Why education needs to move beyond memorization. 🌍 How schools can prepare students for a rapidly changing world. 💡 Why developing confidence, critical thinking, adaptability, and purpose may matter as much as academic achievement. 🤖 What education should look like in the age of AI. 🚀 How we can build learning environments that help every child unlock their potential. If the world has changed, shouldn't education change too? Join us for a conversation that challenges assumptions and reimagines what learning could become. #psychologytalks #education #futureoflearning #psychology #humanpotential #leadership #ai #criticalthinking #studentsuccess #learning #innovation

The Truth About ADHD That Most People Never Hear

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain regulates attention, impulse control, emotional regulation, and executive functioning. While it is commonly associated with distraction or hyperactivity, ADHD is far more complex than these stereotypes. For many, ADHD presents daily challenges. Yet, when understood and supported effectively, it can also be associated with remarkable strengths, including creativity, innovation, resilience, curiosity, problem-solving, and the ability to think outside the box. Many high achievers have openly shared their ADHD journeys, including Richard Branson, Simone Biles,Will Smith, Emma Watson, and David Neeleman, founder of JetBlue. Their stories remind us that ADHD does not define a person's potential, it is understanding, support, and the right strategies that help individuals flourish. In this episode of Psychology Talks, I am delighted to welcome Michael McLeod, M.A., an award-winning keynote speaker, executive function specialist, professional development trainer, and the creator of the Internal Skills Executive Function Strengthening Model. With more than 20 years of experience, Michael has dedicated his career to helping children, adults, educators, and families better understand ADHD and strengthen executive functioning skills. He is also the co-host of the ADHD Parenting Podcast and the author of The Executive Function Playbook and The Executive Function Playbook In Action. Join us for an insightful conversation as we separate myths from facts and explore a more balanced, evidence-based understanding of ADHD. The Psychology of Intuition: Learning to Trust What You Know

How many times have you said, "I knew it!" after ignoring a gut feeling? We often dismiss intuition as something mystical, yet psychology tells a different story. Research suggests that our brains process millions of pieces of information every second, while our conscious minds can only focus on a tiny fraction of that information. Much of what we "know" is happening beneath our awareness, drawing on past experiences, patterns, emotions, and observations. Nobel Prize-winning psychologist Daniel Kahneman described this as fast thinking—the brain's remarkable ability to make rapid assessments before conscious reasoning catches up. In fact, studies of experienced professionals from physicians and first responders to business leaders and athletes, show that some of their best decisions are often informed by intuition developed through years of pattern recognition and experience. But here's the challenge: Many of us have been taught to trust external opinions more than our own inner wisdom. We second-guess ourselves, overanalyze, and silence the very signals that could help us navigate uncertainty with greater confidence. Reina Hallab, is a Self-Mastery Expert, Conscious Leadership Architect, and Transformational Speaker, as we explore this fascinating subject. Having navigated three brain surgeries and a profound personal transformation journey, Reina brings a unique perspective on resilience, self-mastery, and learning to trust yourself even in life's most uncertain moments. The most powerful answers are not always found by looking outward. Sometimes they emerge when we learn to listen inward.

Discover the Psychology of Leading Under Pressure

Guest Speaker: JayR McIntyre Research in psychology shows that under pressure, the brain naturally shifts into a survival response, narrowing attention and increasing emotional reactivity. However, studies on high-performing leaders in military and emergency environments suggest that those who are trained in emotional regulation and cognitive reframing are significantly more likely to make clear, effective decisions in moments of crisis. We will be exploring how individuals respond to pressure, what differentiates steady leadership from reactive decision-making, and how experiences in the military translate into broader lessons about clarity, responsibility, and human behavior in demanding situations. This discussion is not only about leadership in extreme environments, but also about the everyday moments where pressure quietly shapes decisions, outcomes, and character. Join us this Tuesday for a thoughtful conversation on leadership, resilience, and the psychology behind performing under pressure. Our guest is JayR McIntyre, DBA(c), MBA, PMP, a Combat Veteran, entrepreneur, and leadership strategist whose journey spans military service and business leadership. With 14 years in the U.S. Army, including combat experience and recognition with a Bronze Star, JayR brings a grounded perspective on what it means to make decisions when the stakes are high. Beyond his military service, he has built and led organizations in the private sector, including founding Rat Pack Worldwide Security, and has spent years working with leaders, veterans, entrepreneurs, and young people on resilience, discipline, and personal development. He is also recognized among LinkedIn’s Top 100 Speakers to Watch. https://www.linkedin.com/in/thahoodmotiv8tor/ Www.Thahoodmotiv8tor.com
