Bastard Tapes

UPDATE: Show was always a bit intermittent, but the last episode was over two months ago and was motivated a bit at least by me sending messages to Joe Pickett from FFF to check on Tim Harrod’s progress. I know it’s probably just a labor of love and not profit, but it would be nifty to get a new episode sometime this year again, it’s good stuff! Great content, great research, nifty production, smooth hosting and announcing. Miss having more frequency but maybe it will come with time. (Update, “frequency” may not be a feature of this show, lol.)

Thanks for making it 😀

Tim is the master curator of a musical wax museum, not just in the freakishly odd samples he puts on display (which themselves, like waxworks, closely resemble the popular subject, but only from certain angles and at great distances) but also in his theatrical presentation, bringing the listener on an unsettling, yet titillating, journey that traverses each installation in jarring succession. If left to one’s own to wonder the exhibit, one would feel the price of admission would be better spent on a root canal, but Tim throws such colorful words into the air that you are left in a state of both amusement and morbid curiosity, like confetti falling to the ground after a clown car has been struck by the Hogwarts train. You can’t help but end the experience salivating for the next episode, questioning your sanity, sure, but excited for what wonders he brings you next.

I catch up on these when I go running and I often forget what I’m listening to and why but it’s always in a good way, recommend!
