Ep. 52: Generational Healing — Repair & Reconciliation after No Contact, Taelor’s Story

In this episode, Taelor discusses the long-awaited life update & hot topic in this community… repair & reconciliation after no contact with all family for years Taelor shares from lived experiences of the hard choice to be completely alone, and her journey that ended up shockingly in repair, healing, and breaking generational cycles (for more than just the cycle breaker!) It is because of Taelor’s inner work, that she’s been able to facilitate these hard conversations and hold space with objectivity and compassion for reconnection with the “good parent” side of the family.  She would like to reiterate that no contact, while highly discussed in survivor and mental health spaces and can be controversial, is an individual choice for everyone. It also is (hopefully) not the end point, though in some cases, it absolutely can be and is the right choice for that person (they know best). Please see other episodes on no contact and her journey throughout the years earlier in the podcast. Taelor has a unique experience with both extended & indefinite no contact with the paternal side of the family, and intermittent no contact with the maternal side of the family… with, spoiler alert, a happy ending & shifting of cycles. Why was this all possible? Listen to the episode for some great takeaways and sprinkles of lessons throughout.  —  To continue the connection & conversation around all things healing, growth, & Overcoming, be sure to follow along our podcast page @OvercomingPod,   https://www.instagram.com/overcomingpod Also, feel free to check out http://bio.site/soswithdrtaelor for up-to-date to social media, collaborations, and services, including our self-paced growing course library, “The Overcoming Academy,” bringing you more depth, accessibility, and autonomy within various trauma education topics.  Thank you, again, for your continued support, shares, & feedback. Ep. 50: Oops! I dated a predator (& what I missed)

In this episode, Taelor recounts the chilling story of how she wound up dating someone she didn’t even know. Someone who lied about their identity, & later was revealed to be a convicted child sexual predator. Yes, you heard that right. With so much of meeting & interactions with others online, it makes it easier for predators to where a mask & go undetected. Not only does Taelor share her perspectives of her own personal experience in dating a harmful & manipulative human, and where her own misjudgments or trauma patterns came in to play in that relationship. She also reflects on multiple missed warning signs, & reflects on others she has experienced prior. Inviting you to take part in the discussion in our poll: What did you miss (in later revealing harmful/toxic relationships)? And what would you want others to know to look out for & stay safe? — To continue the connection & conversation around all things healing, growth, & Overcoming, be sure to follow along our podcast page @OvercomingPod, https://www.instagram.com/overcomingpod Also, feel free to check out http://bio.site/soswithdrtaelor for up-to-date to social media, collaborations, and services, including our self-paced growing course library, “The Overcoming Academy,” bringing you more depth, accessibility, and autonomy within various trauma education topics.
