Mental Health Awareness Month// You can’t say I’m not a strong black woman!

May is mental health awareness month and that’s exactly what we’re talking about. A lot of times people only speak on or speak up for mental health because it’s the viral or “cool” thing to do. But are you willing to talk about it when nobody else is? Are you willing to have that conversation when it’s “uncomfortable” to do so? Also, I feel like it’s important to speak on black woman with high functioning depression. How many “strong black women” do you know? & how’d they gain that title?

Black Men Heal// You can’t say if that was a black man would y’all have cared that much?

Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in black men ages 15-24. We don’t shine enough light on black men and their mental health. Of course as a black woman I don’t know what it feels like to be a black man, but I know a lot of men who do. In this episode we’re talking about mental health as it pertains to black men and how they feel. Joining that conversation, to give his perspective, I have a special guest Khalil (IG: @lil.bmf) as he gives his perspective on the subject.

We also speak on taking the time out to celebrate our big and small wins rather than moving straight to the next thing. Stopping and smelling the roses of the things we accomplish and giving ourselves our own flowers.

    Let’s be clear!// You can’t say you live in a miserable a** generation…

Let’s be clear! In this episode i want to set clear what “You Can’t Say That” is all about. Also i want to talk about how dependent we become on other people or how dependent we become on wanting people in our lives but we never make sure we become dependent on the most important person in lives… OURSELVES. So we’re talking about having a healthy relationship or healthy interactions with ourselves.

    Wait… healthy relationships?// You can’t say you’re going to sell your vagina….
