Episode 53: Your Space Communicates with guest Jason Adam Miller

Welcome back to COMPOSING CHURCH. Thank you for joining us on this journey together. Today's episode dives into the topic found in Chapter 7 of Composing Church: Considerations for the Modern Creative Leader, which is titled "Your Space Communicates." Today I am joined by the Lead Pastor of South Bend City Church, Jason Adam Miller. Jason has served in a variety of ministry spaces over the years, and when it came time to start a church, he made some deeply intentional decisions in space curation that can be found by visiting the church or viewing pictures on the website at https://southbendcitychurch.com/. Jason is also the author of When the World Breaks: The Surprising Hope and Subversive Promises in the Teachings of Jesus and creator of the podcast, Everything That Rises. I am joined by Aaron Niequist - author of The Eternal Current: How a Practice-Based Faith Can Save Us from Drowning, and founder/curator of Pastors, Priests and Guides- an ecumenical organization that hosts retreats for anyone in the Christian stream within a director, guide, or leadership role. Episode 51: Does the Outside Matter More Than the Inside?

Welcome back to Season 4, with our brand new podcast title, COMPOSING CHURCH. Thank you for joining us on this journey together. Today's episode dives into the question: on our teams, does the outside matter more than the inside? In my book, Composing Church: Considerations for the Modern Creative Leader, I share a story about the wrestle with the ratio of how much we were focused on the outward formation versus the inward. Is there an invitation for us to consider adjusting that ratio in our current contexts? Food for thought.
