    We begin with Abram and Sarah taking matters into their own hands, which leads to misery for all. But God appears and shows himself to be a God who sees and also a God who promises grace and mercy. And we conclude this episode seeing how Jesus is the answer to the promises made and how he provides in miraculous and loving ways!  Passages in this episode: Genesis 16-18, Psalm 148, Mark 6

    Judgment & Mercy

    The readings from Genesis depict God's judgment on evil and injustice, and the consequences of sin in our lives. And yet we also see God's mercy. Psalm 1 presents us with the choice of focusing our lives on God or ourselves, calling us to see the benefits of a life focused on God. And Mark 7 concludes with Jesus calling religious leaders out for their hypocrisy, while showing mercy to the weak and outcasts of society.  Passages read in this episode: Genesis 19-20, Psalm 1, Mark 7

    God's Loyal Love

    All three passages speak of how God is loyal in how he loves, even though we are not. We see it in the stories from Genesis, from Psalm 107 which has a refrain in each verse that speaks of this loyal love, and in the life of Jesus from Mark 8.
