In this podcast we are on a journey into the weird world of church people. Why is it that church people do the things they do, say the things they say, and live the way they live? We are here to reduce fear and increase understanding of the people trying to follow the message of Jesus Christ.

In this continuation of our current series discussing those church folks who haven’t always been such, I interview my brother-in-law, Texas Young. Today’s guest in our series of folks who haven’t always been “Church People” is Jessica James. A wife and mother who is raising her kids and living her life for the Lord. Nothing too crazy, except if you’re looking at the standards of the world all around us. This is definitely Peculiar!

    44. If I Had to Do It All Over Again: Misti Hallum

If you've been away from church for some time, this one is for you. Over the course of the coming year we intend to be releasing episodes featuring the stories of church people, who haven't exactly always been "church people." Maybe they stepped away, maybe they were never really in it. But somehow they made the radical shift from the outside to the inside. Today we feature the story of Misti Hallum, and her journey from being the "backslidden, divorced girl" to the pastor's right hand lady who is a "Mountain Mover!" If you're interested Mountain Movers Women's Conference is Friday-Saturday March 8-9, 2024 Register for FREE here: Mountain Mover's Women's Conference 2024 • Life Apostolic Church (elvanto.net)

    43. Peculiar Patter: Prodigal (that's a lotta P's)

If you've ever been in a church service and heard someone ask the congregation to "pray for our prodigals," and then wondered, "What does that mean?" Then this episode is for you. What exactly is a prodigal anyway?

    42. Why so Weird?

Simon Sinek introduced the concept of "The Golden Circle" in his book and TED Talk about starting with Why. Typically when trying to share a concept we tell what it is, maybe even how to do it, but if we really want to change things we have to consider why. Today I'm sharing a bit about why it is that the central statement of our show is true, "Church people are weird." Or at the very least I'll tell you why this particular member of the church community is.

    41. Peculiar Process: Can We Stick with It?

Since December it seems this podcast has slipped off schedule. If you follow my other show, Reality Speaks, you'll notice a similar pattern. This isn't an unusual pattern this time of year. What's up with that? Can it be fixed? Let's talk about that. My interview with Joshua Pearson: https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/...
