I’ve stumbled onto Julian’s podcast after finding out he was friends with another podcaster who had us on the episode after his on their show. After picking a few episodes to listen to (i.e. Craig Bartlet, Gregg Berger, Toby Jones, and Jody Gray) I get a strong sense he’a a podcaster who’s weathered a storm most have not endured so his podcast can exist today. All of his interviews are deeply insightful.
Julian is thought-provoking, asks earnest questions to his guests, and respects everyone involved - whether you’re a fan, new listener or a guest. Above all, he keeps is conversations natural and close-to-home, something I greatly admire in him, since I’ve often struggled with my own podcast presence. While he does swear a bit (which may be too much for either younger or more sensitive listeners), it doesn’t bother me, as I can understand why it slips into his conversations sparsely.
Bottom line: If you love hearing about animation history and how production in the industry works straight from the horse’s mouth, this is the perfect podcast for you. He seems like a great guy, and I look forward to getting to know him better as I dig through his catalog loaded with gems 💎
