Moses, the leader of the people, shares that as part of the meal, "your children [will] ask, ‘What does this ceremony mean?' When they do, tell them, 'It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD.'" This ceremony was not just for the original Israelites. It was for their children and children's children. It was the Covenant LORD's rescue of enslaved people through the shedding of blood. It was their rescue. It was also our rescue. The story of Exodus is the story of our first deliverance.
