Join us as we react in real time to one of our favorite Ghost Brothers episodes yet. 175: The Not-So-Scary Side of Ghosts with Rebekah the Ghost Guide

Paranormal educator, TikTok creator, and author Rebekah Carmichael (The Ghost Guide) joins us for a thoughtful, funny conversation about ghosts, haunted history, spirit companions, and why curiosity is often more powerful than fear. Ghosts don't have to be terrifying. This week we're joined by paranormal educator, content creator, and author Rebekah Carmichael, better known as The Ghost Guide, for one of our favorite conversations yet. Rebekah has built a huge following by making the paranormal approachable, thoughtful, and yes... even fun. Her new book, The Not-So-Scary Guide to Ghosts, encourages readers to replace fear with curiosity, and that's exactly what we explore in this episode. Together we discuss: Why ghosts aren't always the scary part How history and hauntings are deeply connected What makes a great ghost tour (and what tour guides sometimes get wrong) Why empathy matters, whether you're talking about the living or the dead Spirit companions, haunted houses, and learning to see paranormal experiences in a new light Bras, yay or nay? Along the way we laugh, swap ghost stories, accidentally become friends, and discover that maybe the most important lesson isn't how to find ghosts... it's how to treat them. Whether you're a lifelong paranormal investigator, a history buff, or someone who's still a little nervous about things that go bump in the night, this conversation is packed with fascinating perspectives and plenty of laughs,  So, grab your Bojangles Chicken and a little bourbon (or sweet tea) and join us where… The Activity Continues. 174: The Body Bag Was a Terrible Idea

Ghost Brothers: Lights Out: Waverly Hills It's time for another paranormal watch-along, and this time we're heading to one of the most famous haunted locations in America... Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Once again, we let the Universe decide which iteration of Ghost Brothers shows (there are three), and which season and episode we would watch. We landed “Ghost Brothers: Lights Out” Season 2, Episode 8. Before long we were asking the important questions: ·       Is Tim the Demon just suffering from a branding problem? ·       Is Ghost Whip 3000 the greatest piece of ghost-hunting technology ever named? ·       And perhaps most importantly... why are people’s ribs gone? As we follow the Ghost Brothers through haunted hallways, body chutes, bats, body bags, and more "absolutely not" moments than we can count, we discover that the most fascinating part of Waverly Hills might not be the story everyone already knows. Could the other story of Waverly Hills actually be the darker one? OR is Shirleen just drinking the company Kool-Aid. Along the way, we remind ourselves that not everything's demonic. Humans deserve more than the occasional fresh air and sunshine to survive, and question some life choices including body bags and morgue body trays. If you like your paranormal with equal parts creepy history, skeptical commentary, terrible jokes, and two friends yelling "Nope!" at the television, this one's for you. So grab your emotional support Yorkie, leave the body bag at home, and join us where… The Activity Continues. 173: Past Lives, Puppies, and Paranormal Confusion (The Holzer Files: Lambert Castle Reaction)

This time on The Activity Continues, Megan and Amy rolled the dice and landed on The Holzer Files: Lambert Castle. What followed was a haunted castle, mysterious past-life connections, family secrets, psychic roadblocks, and one very persistent paranormal mystery that may or may not have been completely solved. Along the way, we also spent a surprising amount of time introducing Megan to Amy’s newest foster-fail pup, discussing whether ghosts can keep secrets for over a century, and trying to decide if Lambert Castle was genuinely haunted or just really committed to being dramatic. This is the public (edited) version of this episode. If you would like to see the full episode, mostly unedited, please go to our Patreon where you can join us, and watch this and all our upcoming episodes ad-free and often extended. Or you can purchase just this episode. We’d love to have you as part of the Ghosty Fam! Grab a drink, meet the newest member of the canine cast, and join us for a night of ghosts, castles, and chaos. 172: Shushed By a Ghost: Holzer Files 'Grave Secrets' Reaction

Our first Holzer Files Reaction: Grave Secrets This week, Amy and Megan continue their experiment of rolling the dice and reacting to a paranormal show they've never pre-screened. Their random selection leads them to a haunted house, a mysterious bloodstain, a tragic family legend, and one very unsettling ghost whose preferred method of communication appears to be shushing people. As the investigation unfolds, long-held local stories start to unravel, leaving Amy and Megan questioning everything they thought they knew about the haunting. Along the way, they spiral into discussions about nightgowns, muumuus, Blair Witch trauma, ghost-hunting gadgets, and whether some paranormal legends survive simply because they're too good for a town to let go. Join us for haunted history, unexpected twists, and a healthy amount of paranormal tomfoolery. Content Warning: suicide, and we use colorful language. 171: Appeals & Alibis (The Dead Files "Lady in Black")

Research and Rabbit Holes for TDF "The Lady in Black" After our first-ever watch-together episode, it was time to do what we do best: pull on every loose historical thread we could find and see where it led. Spoiler alert: it led to failed divorces, mysterious house histories, censured juries, tornadoes, and at least one rabbit hole that ended in a spectacular dead end. This week, Amy brings the receipts leaving listeners and Megan equally surprised by every twist and turn. We discuss a podcast review so sweet it nearly makes us cry, the accidental Midwestern art of saying "uff da" and "ope," and why the best podcasts feel less like shows and more like hanging out with friends. Then we head back to Marshalltown, Iowa, where the questions only get stranger. Did the house have a dark history before Kelly and Mike moved in? Did their paranormal investigations bring something home with them? Why did previous residents report nothing unusual? And how exactly does a house drop nearly 70% in price? Along the way, we uncover an eerie letter from the homeowners themselves, featuring flying wine glasses, mystery scratches, grandchildren chatting with an old woman upstairs, and a laptop that somehow froze on a photograph of Angie Braddock's gravestone before anyone knew who she was. Because apparently normal coincidences were not invited to this party. We also dive deep into the story of K.C. Roberts, the faith healer at the center of multiple death investigations. That sends us into discussions about Christian Science, coroner's juries, old-timey public shaming, legal loopholes, and the frustrating realization that some human behaviors haven't changed much in the last 125 years. Plus: ·        Megan invents new legal theories despite not attending law school. ·        Amy becomes temporarily obsessed with spelling variations of the same man's name. ·        We mourn a very good dog. ·        We discover that Angie once tried to divorce her husband. ·        And we once again prove that no historical mystery is safe from becoming a tangent. ·         So, grab your mug of hot cocoa and join us where… The Activity Continues. 170: The Lady in Black & the Hobo Con Man (Live React)

Recapping The Dead Files “The Lady in Black” (Season 10 Episode 6) This week we did something we’ve somehow NEVER done before: we rolled dice live on-air to randomly pick a Dead Files episode, and watched it together completely blind in real time, IN PERSON. Which means you get our uncensored reactions, immediate theories, interruptions, chaos, and approximately seventeen side quests. The dice landed us in Marshalltown, Iowa for The Lady in Black, featuring a haunted house owned by paranormal investigators who may have finally found a case they can’t handle themselves. Along the way we discuss violent hauntings, creepy staircases, spirit attachments, whether dead people sleep, and one deeply upsetting shallow grave situation involving Richard Tasler, AKA “the hobo con man.” We also spiral into: ·       whether closed captions help or destroy your ability to watch TV, ·       paranormal investigator qualifications, ·       Christian Science and faith healing, ·       Michael Peterson and the owl theory, ·       how many post-conviction filings is TOO many, ·       and why Amy would absolutely interview the family dog if given the opportunity. There are ghost children, a woman in a black veil, increasingly alarming injuries, and several moments where we completely derail ourselves before trying to remember we are technically recapping a television show. Ponder: If multiple people in a house think one family member is “changing” because of paranormal activity… but that person doesn’t believe any of it… who do you trust? Witness: Steve swearing when he sees the sketch, and Megan reminding him it’s a family show, damm*t! Weigh-In: If Amy Allan told you a spirit wanted your family gone and said moving was the only option… would you leave the house? So, grab your dice, your closed captions remote, and maybe a flashlight for the staircase… and join us where… The Activity Continues. Content Warning: Child death in history, and we do still swear. 169: A Little Yellow Flower (Death Valley #3)

In this episode, we wrap up our three-part Death Valley series by diving into the 2000 documentary Amargosa—and let’s just say… we had thoughts. We get into Megan’s slow burn experience with the film (it took about an hour to click… but when it did, it really did), while Amy was immediately charmed by its very specific “1970s educational film” vibe—grainy footage, questionable cinematography, and all. Somehow, this thing both feels amateur and also won an Emmy, which… we’re still processing. But what really pulled us in wasn’t the filmmaking—it was Marta We talk about her resilience, her wildly difficult upbringing, her complicated relationships, and how she somehow came out the other side as this deeply optimistic, slightly woo-woo, fully committed artist who just… did whatever the hell brought her joy. Whether that was painting murals she didn’t own, performing for empty rooms, or building an entire life in the middle of nowhere, Marta didn’t wait for permission. So, grab your wildflower seeds and join us where… The Activity Continues. Content Warning: We didn’t find anything we thought deserved a content warning, but we did swear.
