Vulnerability is an invitation to get closer to God with Markus Jackson

In this episode of the Building Faith Podcast, Coach Ro sits down with Markus Jackson, also known as Christian artist Mark Dog, for a transparent conversation about men, faith, emotions, discipleship, purpose, and what it really means to surrender to God. Society has taught many men to “be strong,” suppress their emotions, and handle their struggles alone. But Scripture gives us a different picture. From David openly expressing his emotions before God to Jesus calling believers into community, we are reminded that vulnerability has a place in our relationship with God. Coach Ro and Markus unpack what happens when we stop hiding behind our emotions and start bringing them honestly before the Lord. They discuss the importance of godly community, finding people who can walk with you through difficult seasons, understanding the difference between purpose and calling, renewing your mind, and recognizing that conviction is not condemnation. Most importantly, this conversation is a reminder that you were never meant to do this walk alone. Whether you are struggling with shame, anger, purpose, temptation, isolation, or simply trying to find your way back to God, His grace is still available. Sometimes surrender looks like admitting, “I need help.” Find your community.Fast. Pray. Be vulnerable. Stay consistent. And when God says, “Come,” don’t be afraid to get out of the boat. 🎙️ Welcome to another conversation where we’re building faith, growing in purpose, and learning how to choose God—even in the vulnerable places.

When the Room Isn't Full, But God Still Moves

Sometimes obedience doesn't look like success. I planned an event for 50 people… and only 6 showed up. And if I'm being completely honest, at first, it hurt. I questioned myself. I wondered where I went wrong. I wondered if all the planning, praying, fasting, preparing, and believing had been in vain. But God had to remind me: my responsibility was obedience, not outcomes. The room may not have been full, but God was there. We broke bread. We shared tears. We had real conversations. People were impacted. And through the eyes of those who attended, God showed me that what I thought was a failure was never a failure at all. Sometimes God has to shift our perspective because we're so focused on what we expected that we miss what He actually did. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that we may make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. So if you're sitting in a season where things didn't turn out the way you expected, don't call it a failure too soon. Maybe God is teaching you to trust Him beyond the numbers, beyond the applause, beyond the attendance, and beyond what makes sense. Six people came. God still showed up. And that's enough. You are still worthy. You are still called. You are still capable. And most importantly, you still need Jesus. ❤️‍🔥 🎙️ Listen to the newest episode of the Building Faith Podcast as I share what this experience taught me about faith, expectations, disappointment, purpose, and trusting God when things don't go according to plan. #BuildingFaithPodcast #FaithBuildersUnited #TrustGod #FaithOverFear #WalkByFaith #GodsPlan #ChristianEncouragement #FaithJourney #Purpose #Obedience #KeepGoing #GodStillShowsUp
