    Chris Wright, Liberty Energy’s Engagement are the Talk of the Town

    Energy transition and industry engagement were the Talk of the Town this week on Townsquare Media’s KLXX SuperTalk 1270AM. Specifically the positive work Chris Wright and the team at Liberty Energy are doing for the oil and gas industry. Talk of the Town host Steve Bakken asked The Crude Life’s founder Jason Spiess about his opinion on Chris Wright and the recent changes at Liberty Energy. “Before CO and carbon capture became a catchword, Liberty Energy figured out the industry was more expansive than oil and gas and we are an energy company and not limited to oil and gas,” Bakken said. “They grew into some other spaces and have done a great job being vocal and pushing out the messaging.” Spiess agreed with Bakken and advanced the conversation further. “What their CEO Chris Wright has done, in my opinion, has become of the true leaders in the petroleum space to educate global leaders on how the oil and gas industry is a leader in carbon management and environmental innovations,” Spiess said. The two continued the discussion citing examples of how the industry used to be very “boiler plate” on how to conduct public relations, however, time have changed. “What Chris Wright and Liberty do different than many of the other leaders in the industry is they do not present their message from an ego-centric point of view rather a this is what we do and this is why we do it,” Spiess said. “He’s really been one of the first ones to crack the presentation culture where I think the rest of the industry has missed.” Bakken agreed. “Chris and Liberty stepped outside the box,” Bakken said. Chris Wright is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Energy in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Wright was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2020. He also serves on the Denver Branch Board of Directors. From the perspective of Denver Branch Board Director Chris Wright, “energy is the infrastructure of the economy. It makes everything else possible.” Wright, a pioneer in hydraulic fracturing, is the chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Liberty Oilfield Services in Denver. He also is the executive chairman of Liberty Resources and Liberty Midstream Solutions. He previously served as chief executive officer of Pinnacle Technologies, which created the hydraulic fracture mapping industry and helped launch the modern “fracking” industry and commercial shale gas production in the 1990s. “We bring out the technology, the trucks, and the horsepower” to release oil and gas from shale, Wright said on the Federal Reserve’s website. Large producers like Exxon and ConocoPhillips are among Liberty Oilfield Service’s customers. Wright serves on numerous organizations’ boards of directors and is involved in several initiatives to provide scholarships, career opportunities, and other resources in communities across the Denver region.     Heitkamp Heads to Arizona’s McCain Institute Forum to Discuss Her Work on Combatting Human Trafficking

    **Click Here For Video, and Here for Audio of Heitkamp Discussing Her Participation at the Sedona Forum** FARGO, N.D. – U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today departed for Arizona, where she will discuss with world leaders, philanthropists, and the business community her efforts to combat sex and human trafficking. At the invitation of Cindy McCain – a leader in efforts to end human trafficking in the United States and around the world – Heitkamp was asked to participate in the McCain Institute’s annual Sedona Forum, which will also feature former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.  The gathering brings together leaders to discuss current global political and humanitarian issues and look at various options and approaches to address pressing global concerns. Heitkamp will participate in a discussion about human trafficking and examining ways to combat this problem with Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Cindy McCain, the wife of U.S. Senator John McCain. “I’m honored Cindy McCain invited me to participate in the Sedona Forum, which will help bring our current work to combat human trafficking to the attention of political, non-profit, and business leaders from around the world,” said Heitkamp. “Human trafficking – for both sex and labor – is a serious and growing problem globally, and in North Dakota, where we are seeing and hearing about increased instances of trafficking. I’m especially concerned about trafficking in Indian Country and the prevalence of exploitation of Native women and children. We can’t solve this problem overnight, but by shining a bright light on it we can help reduce human trafficking in North Dakota, around the country, and throughout the world.” Heitkamp is currently working to pass legislation she introduced to help enable minors who are involved in sex trafficking to come forward and be treated as victims, not criminals. The Stop Exploitation Through Trafficking Act will give prosecutors the tools they need to tackle domestic minor sex trafficking and help make sure victims of these horrific crimes receive the support they need. Statistics show on average children are 13 years old when they are forced to become victims of sex trafficking. Since becoming a U.S. Senator, Heitkamp is continuing the work she started as North Dakota’s Attorney General to combat human and sex trafficking. Last week, Heitkamp, Klobuchar (D-MN), and McCain traveled to Mexico to discuss joint efforts to fight sex trafficking. They met with the Attorney General of Mexico, sex trafficking prosecutors and non-governmental organizations, the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, and Mexican Senators involved in the issue to push for coordinated efforts to combat human trafficking in Mexico and the United States. Heitkamp and Klobuchar were also in Fargo earlier this year with law enforcement and social service advocates to push their bipartisan legislation and meet with local advocates. Last year, Heitkamp helped lead a Senate hearing to better understand the work being done on the federal, state, and local levels to combat human trafficking. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing, which Heitkamp asked the Committee hold, brought together officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Justice, and non-profit leaders who are on the frontlines of addressing human trafficking.     U.S. Secretary of Energy Responds to Cramer Inquiry on Hydraulic Fracturing Research

    BISMARCK, N.D. – U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz has responded to an inquiry made by Congressman Kevin Cramer last week at a hearing of the U.S. House Science, Space and Technology Committee. Cramer asked about the status of a research plan due to Congress over a year ago. An interagency working group to coordinate and plan agency research on unconventional oil and natural gas attained from hydraulic fracturing was announced in April 2012. After announcing the group two years ago, the Obama Administration has missed repeated deadlines while spending taxpayer dollars in presenting its research plan to Congress. During the hearing, Moniz seemed unfamiliar with the commitment to Congress but confirmed the group is “very active” and told the Congressman he would look into the issue. Today Cramer said he received a response from Moniz indicating the report is in process and he is hopeful for a release in the next few months. “I am pleased Secretary Moniz responded to my request and will continue to press his department to meet deadlines and make more information available. It is concerning agencies take so long to release even a plan to research issues while simultaneously drafting their rules. Expanded production of unconventional oil and natural gas resources in North Dakota and throughout the United States is already providing benefits and I’d hate to see its full potential diminished because rules got ahead of research,” said Cramer.
