Should Christians Be Involved in Politics? | Dr. Michael Brown

Should Christians get involved in politics—or does it pull us away from the gospel? Dr. Michael Brown joins Wake Up Church to tackle one of the most debated questions in the church today. Is political engagement a distraction, or is it part of being salt and light? How do we vote without compromising our witness? What about character vs. policy? Christian nationalism? Israel? And what does it actually look like for everyday believers to engage without losing the main thing? In this conversation, Dr. Brown brings clarity, biblical balance, and practical wisdom—calling the church to wake up without confusing politics with the kingdom of God. Don’t just react to the culture. Get equipped.

It’s Not Political, It’s Spiritual: How Christians Should Vote in 2026

Should Christians vote, and if so, how? What do you do when you don’t think there’s a good, Godly option on the ballot? In this episode, Chris sits down with two pastors from Mercy Culture Church, Pastor Will Ford and Pastor Les. They tackle the hard questions believers are asking ahead of the 2026 midterms. They cover why voting for policies matters more than personality, the “God gap” in today’s politics, how to grow in moral clarity, what’s at stake if Christians sit this one out, and how the church should respond to labels like “Christian nationalist.” It’s not political, it’s spiritual. That doesn’t mean we do nothing. 👉 Like, share, and subscribe, and drop a comment: should Christians vote? The Greatest Genocide in America

In this  episode of the Wake Up Church podcast, Chris sits down with Pastor Jeremiah Hicks of Cure Church to confront the issue almost no one wants to talk about: abortion. Jeremiah shares his personal journey from foster care to becoming a bold voice for the unborn, exposing Margaret Sanger’s eugenic and racist roots in Planned Parenthood. This is not a political conversation. It is a spiritual one. From the altars of Baal to the modern “altars” of Planned Parenthood, Jeremiah and Chris call out weak leadership, fear-driven silence in the Church, and the demonic spirit of fear that has convinced a generation that killing a child is a “choice.” They challenge pastors and Christians: the blood of the innocent is on our hands if we stay silent. This episode ends with a powerful prayer for warriors to rise, fear to break, and boldness to return to the Church. If you’ve ever wondered why the Church has been so quiet, this is the episode for you.

Can You Be a Christian and a Democrat?

Can you be a Christian and a Democrat? Texas State Senator and Republican nominee for Attorney General Mayes Middleton joins Chris to answer that question head-on. Middleton talks about faith as a calling, not a career, and why he says the modern Democratic Party has been captured by the Democratic Socialists of America. He walks through bills he authored — Save Women’s Sports, the Texas Women’s Privacy Act, and defining male and female in law — and contrasts that record with James Talarico, a professing Christian Democrat who opposed the Ten Commandments in classrooms, school chaplains, and prayer in public schools. They cover “love thy neighbor” as a political slogan, border policy, defunding police, Soros-backed prosecutors, the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act, and why Middleton says not voting is a vote for the other side. For Liberty & Justice seeks to mobilize the church, wake up the city, and take a stand for liberty and justice. Christianity & Politics: Why the Church Can’t Stay Silent

What happens when a Christian is called into the public square? On this episode of Wake Up Church, Chris sits down with Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare for a candid conversation about faith, family, leadership, government, elections, and the role of the Church in our communities. Judge O’Hare shares the story of how he went from practicing law and investing in real estate to entering public office after asking God to make His will clear. He also discusses what it means to lead one of America’s largest counties while seeking to put his faith at the center of his decisions. The conversation goes beyond politics. They talk about discernment in an age of social media and political division, the importance of understanding what is happening beyond an eight-second clip, the responsibility Christians have to engage in their communities, and why local government can have such a significant impact on everyday life. The message throughout the conversation is simple: the Church cannot afford to stay on the sidelines. Watch, listen, share, and join the conversation as we seek to Mobilize the Church, Wake Up the City, and Take a Stand For Liberty and Justice.

Was America REALLY Founded as a Christian Nation?

Was America founded as a Christian nation—or has our history been quietly erased? Tim Barton, president of WallBuilders, sits down with Chris to walk through original documents, founding charters, court cases, and the actual stories of the Founders. They cover: Jefferson’s “separation of church and state” letter—and the fact that two days later he attended church in the U.S. Capitol and invited the preacherThe First Continental Congress opening with prayer and a Bible study (Psalm 35)Why “Christian nationalism” is often used as a scare labelWhat the church should do now in a more secular cultureBarton argues the nation was formed by men who overwhelmingly believed biblical principles were the best foundation for freedom, stability, and prosperity—and that the church must stop sitting on the sidelines. EXPOSING the Culture of Death Behind Lindsay Clancy

Three children are dead. Their mother is on trial. The culture is asking whether it was evil or illness. In this episode of the Wake Up Church Podcast, Chris and Josh walk through the Lindsay Clancy case — the January 2023 killings of Cora (5), Dawson (3), and Callan (8 months) in Duxbury, Massachusetts — and refuse to treat the victims as a footnote. They cover: What the prosecution and defense are actually arguingHow a culture that devalues children in the womb now devalues them after birthThe government’s job to connect crime with consequenceThis is not a call to hate Lindsay Clancy.
