The Cosmic Game

This show checks every box needed to be a good show: great writing, awesome and varied acting, spectacular sound design, good story But what makes it great is the depth you feel in the world you inhabit during each episode. When a sexy vampire is running from a castration-obsessed religious cult and takes a turn into a corner of New Orleans that – avoiding spoilers – opens a portal to somewhere else, and when she’s then told a story that transcends universal planes and various ages, you can somehow place these locales in relation to one another as you listen. It feels like you’re illuminating pieces of a map in your mind, the way that a good RPG treats you during exploration. It’s as if the story unfolds in a way that you can complete it if you keep going. That is difficult to pull off, and the producers of this show provide a robust listening experience matched in narrative only by the impeccable score and audio engineering that provides this full sense of presence.

Oooooh it gets so dark!

This podcast creates real atmosphere with it’s lush soundscapes, great score and wonderful voice acting. I can’t wait to see where this sprawling story goes. All of the fun of an old radio melodrama with all sensibilities of modern horror/ fantasy. Keep it coming!

I’m three episodes in and this is a fun romp. Highly recommend.
