"I Didn't Have a Business Degree": Gini Dietrich on Daring to Do It Anyway

Everyone told Gini she couldn't build a business. She did it anyway. She was a "cute little girl" from Salt Lake City with an English Lit degree and no business background, so how could she possibly build a company? Twenty years later, she's the founder and CEO of Spin Sucks and the creator of the PESO model, a framework now used by Fortune 500 companies, governments, and universities in more than 15 countries. In this Women Who Dare conversation, Gini opens up about the stubborn streak that fuels her, the recession that forced her to let go of her entire 30-person team, and the lesson she took from it: build multiple streams of income so you're never starting from scratch again.    She and Dr. Felecia Froe also dig into why rest is a business strategy, how AI has become the new gatekeeper, the research showing women who use AI are seen as less trustworthy than men, and why the mistakes you're afraid of making are exactly what you'll learn the most from. If you've ever been waiting for the other shoe to drop, this one's for you.    00:00 – "Watch Me": Crossing Things Off the List 04:55 – Stubbornness, Stress, and Non-Negotiable Self-Care 09:46 – The Great Recession and the Case for Multiple Revenue Streams 15:40 – Side Income You Love and the Power of Recharging 22:51 – AI, the New Gatekeeper 34:13 – Mistakes, Starting Before You're Ready, and Asking "Can I Recover?" When the 2008 recession hit, she had to let go of her entire 30-person team, and she came out of it determined to never be in that spot again. Since 2011, she's added a new stream of income every year.  What's something you've been told you couldn't do?  Gini's story is about building something steady enough that one hard season can't take it all. "I Have to Stop Putting Myself Last": Kim Costa on Daring to Choose Herself

What would you do if someone told you you were too old to start over? Kim Costa heard exactly that at 50, when she set out to reinvent her career, her marriage, her home, and her income all at once, and she dared to do it anyway. In this Women Who Dare conversation, Kim joins Dr. Felecia Froe to share how a fall from a horse planted a question she couldn't shake: am I actually living my purpose? She explains why she waited another 15 years to act, and what it cost to finally walk away from a family accounting business that left her with daily headaches and a dimming light.   Kim traded spreadsheets for staging, discovered her ENFP strengths, and became a top 5% Atlanta realtor, author, and podcast host. Her Live in Your Wheelhouse framework helps people decide whether to stay, go, or reno. Along the way, she and Dr. Froe get real about pushing our own needs to the back burner, why dimming your light never helps anyone else shine, and how unexpressed emotions show up in the body. If you've ever felt like you're on the right bus in the wrong seat, this one's for you.   00:00 – The Dare: Reinventing Everything at 50 05:00 – Fifteen Years of Quiet Denial and the First Leap 10:00 – Stepping Stones, Sacrifice, and Putting Yourself First 15:00 – Right Bus, Wrong Seat: Finding Her Fit as a Realtor 20:00 – The Wheelhouse: Is It Time to Stay, Go, or Reno? 28:00 – Light, Wealth, and Daring to Shine   You've worked hard to build your career. "All You'll Have Is a Bunch of Receipts": Dr. Jessica Chandler on Daring to Walk Away From Security

What's one thing someone said you couldn't do, even if that someone was you, that you did anyway? That question kicks off Women Who Dare, a new Wealth B-Hers series. First up is Dr. Jessica Chandler, a gynecologist who chose gynecology-only from the start, a path almost no one around her was taking. She takes us from a small Mississippi town to a full ride at Vanderbilt, through a brutal first semester and a professor who refused to write her a letter, to the day she walked away from a secure job so she wouldn't end up with "a bunch of receipts" instead of time with her family.   Along the way, she and Dr. Felecia Froe talk about the family legacy behind her "don't quit" spirit, why a cash runway makes bold moves possible, and why a path that never looks the way you pictured can still work out. If you've ever talked yourself out of a big move, press play. There are no straight lines here, only small dares that keep building.    00:00 - Gynecology Without Obstetrics: Choosing a Path No One Was Modeling 08:13 - Daring to Leave Home: From Small-Town Mississippi to Vanderbilt 16:49 - Big Fish, Small Pond: Surviving the First Semester 22:21 - Don't Quit Is in the Blood: Family Legacy and Building Your Daring Muscle 28:01 - Leaving the Secure Job: Time Over Money 38:59 - No Straight Lines: Would She Do It Again?   You've worked hard to build your career. The Vanish Test: What My Personal Trainer Taught Me About Your Money with Dr. Felecia Froe

Dr. Felecia Froe opens this solo episode with a confession that has nothing to do with money: she has a personal trainer, and she has absolutely no idea what she's doing at the gym. She just shows up, does what he says, and leaves sweaty. That worked fine until Tony (my trainer) announces he's going on vacation, and Felecia realizes her entire fitness "plan" lives in his head, not hers. That small panic cracks open a much bigger question: how many women are doing the exact same thing with their money?  In this episode, Felecia connects her gym epiphany to a striking UBS statistic about married women and financial decision-making, then walks through the difference between delegating and abdicating, introduces her "vanish test" for figuring out where you actually stand, and gives you three simple questions to start asking whoever manages your money, whether that's a spouse, an advisor, or "my guy." It's not a call to fire your professionals. It's a call to stop being a passenger in your own financial life. 00:00 – The Trainer Confession 04:24 – Delegating vs. Abdicating 06:11 – The Vanish Test 08:09 – The "My Guy Handles That" Investor 09:56 – What Felecia Actually Did 11:16 – Free Guide & Call to Action   You've worked hard to build your career. ICYMI: Make Your Money Do More: Become Your Own Bank with Erica Neal

Erica Neal didn't set out to become a wealth strategist. She was on the pre-med track until an unplanned teenage pregnancy knocked her off that path and into a finance and economics degree she almost didn't choose. In this ICYMI episode, Erica joins Dr. Felecia to trace her journey from watching her mom fall into credit card debt to co-founding Infinity Investment Strategies and writing the bestselling Mind of Gold. She opens up about the "earthquake moment" that made her question everything she'd been taught about traditional financial planning: a client who asked a question she couldn't answer.    Erica and Dr. Felecia dig into what it really took to walk away from a career built on hard-earned licenses, and how that leap led her to the Infinite Banking Concept, a strategy for building tax-free, protected wealth that most people have never even heard of. If you've ever wondered whether there's a better way to grow and protect your money than what your financial advisor  tells you, this one's for you.    00:00 – Meet Erica Neal: From Credit Card Debt to a Finance Degree 09:13 – The Client Question That Changed Erica's Career 21:26 – Letting Go of Licenses, Identity, and Scarcity 36:32 – Women, Legacy, and Bringing Your Kids Along 44:09 – Infinite Banking 101: How to Become Your Own Bank 58:10 – Why Protection Matters More Than You Think   You've worked hard to build your career. Foundations #12: How Wealth B-Hers Talks about Money Differently

Most of us don't avoid money conversations because we don't care; we avoid them because the rooms available to us don't feel safe. In this final installment of the Foundations series, Dr. Felecia Froe steps away from strategy and numbers to unpack something more fundamental: the culture underneath every Wealth B-Hers conversation. She names the pressure many women feel walking into financial conversations, the pressure to already have the answers, to sound confident, to never ask the "basic" question, and shows how that pressure shuts down learning and breeds shame instead of wealth. In its place, she lays out three foundations that shape the Wealth B-Hers community: no pretending, worth separated from net worth, and no rushing.    It's a grounded, reflective episode about building resilient wealth in community instead of in isolation. We don't have the "usual" money conversations, and we're stronger because of it.   00:00 - Welcome to the Foundations Series 01:12 - Why We Avoid Talking About Money 02:31 - The Three Foundations of Wealth B-Hers 03:59 - Why Money Decisions Feel So Heavy 05:02 - Psychological Safety, By Design 06:30 - Take the Next Step   You've worked hard to build your career. The Client a $1.4 Billion Advisor Won't Take with Jonathan Steele

What if the way you think about money today traces back to something that happened when you were twelve or thirteen? On this episode of Wealth B-Hers, Dr. Felecia Froe sits down with Jonathan Steele, founder and chief investment officer of One Wealth Advisors, a firm managing $1.4 billion for roughly 400 families. Jonathan traces his money story back to eighth grade, watching his mom pay off a department store credit card the second they got home, and then walks through his own winding path from a restaurant kitchen to cold calling at Bear Stearns to building an independent firm with his brother.    Along the way, he and Dr. Froe get into what behavioral finance actually means, delegating vs abdicating financial decisions, and the difference between a fiduciary and a financial advisor/dealer-broker. It's a conversation about the psychology behind the numbers and why staying engaged with your advisor (even when it feels like you're bothering them) is what actually protects you.    00:00 – Meet Jonathan Steele: A Money Story from Eighth Grade 09:45 – From the Kitchen to Cold Calling: Jonathan's Path to Finance 18:17 – What Is Behavioral Finance, Really? 23:12 – Delegating vs. Abdicating Your Financial Life 32:09 – Fiduciary vs. Agent: Know Who You're Paying 35:57 – Behind the Advisor: Podcast, Peanut Butter, and Senior Dogs   You've worked hard to build your career.
