    Episode 30 – 9/11, Parachutes & The End of Season 3

We’ve made it to Episode 30, somehow nobody has been cancelled, sacked or permanently removed from the cabin. For the Season 3 finale, Dave, Daniel, Andy and Jack are joined by special guest George for an episode that starts serious, gets thought-provoking… and inevitably ends up exactly where you’d expect a Site Cabin conversation to go. With the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we take a construction-focused look at one of the most significant events in modern history. We discuss the World Trade Centre buildings themselves, their construction, how they responded to the aircraft impacts and fires, evacuation from high-rise buildings, and how 9/11 influenced the way we think about skyscraper safety. Then comes the question that probably isn't being discussed at many construction conferences: Should high-rise buildings have parachutes? Could some kind of emergency parachute system have saved lives? Is it completely ridiculous? Or is there actually an idea buried somewhere underneath the madness? Naturally, the cabin investigates. We then look back at Season 3 Episodes 21–30, picking out some of our favourite moments, conversations and general chaos from the last ten episodes. Finally, we look ahead to Season 4 and Episodes 31–40. Where does The Site Cabin go next? More construction? More everyday life? Bigger debates? More guests? More completely unnecessary arguments? Probably all of the above. Episode 30 closes one chapter of The Site Cabin — and sets up the next ten episodes. 🎧 Five blokes. One table. Absolutely no guarantee of sensible conversation. Episode 28 – The Pod That Went Completely Off the Rails (Again)

This week, Dave, Jack, Danny and Andy somehow start with a “serious” chat about how billions of people now work without desks… and end up questioning whether anyone actually works at all anymore. Self-employment is booming (or disappearing? depends who you ask), and the lads try to figure out how we went from 90% of people grafting for themselves to… whatever this is now. No one agrees, least of all Danny. Then things get properly weird. There’s talk of AI giving everyone £20,000 a year in the UK , Jack’s already spent his imaginary money, Dave doesn’t trust it, Andy thinks it’s a trap, and Danny’s just wondering if it includes free pints. Film corner goes rogue as they dive into Tom Cruise’s journey from “questionable” roles to full-blown cinematic legend… including a passionate (and slightly concerning) defence of Cocktail. Yes, really. You won’t look at flair bartending the same way again. On a more serious note (briefly), the lads tackle why so many women still don’t feel safe walking at night, with some honest, awkward, and surprisingly thoughtful moments…. And just when you think it’s settled, they circle back to self-employment: is it thriving, dying, or just hiding from the taxman? Expect laughs, chaos, wild opinions, and at least three moments where Dave threatens to end the episode early. 👇 Get involved in the comments: Would YOU take £20K from AI? Is self-employment actually disappearing? And… is Cocktail secretly a masterpiece? #Podcast #SelfEmployment #AI #TomCruise #UK #ComedyPodcas

Episode 25-Mushrooms, billionaires, holiday rants, Bruce Willis trivia…

Episode 25 opens with the lads in classic form, slightly underprepared, fully caffeinated and ready to chat absolute nonsense. Danny kicks things off with a wonderfully odd conversation as he sits down with George to talk mushrooms. Foraging, farming, frying, psychedelic, the lot! Danny asks all the wrong questions, and George somehow still manages to teach us things we never needed to know. Then it’s Dave’s turn, fresh back from his Haven getaway and absolutely fuming. He gives us the full breakdown of drink prices at Haven, pint-by-pint, including the moment he realised he’d spent more on lager in three days than he does on petrol in a month. Andy then takes a sharp left turn into the world of the ultra-rich, diving into billionaires, how they think, what they spend their money on, and why none of them seem capable of wearing a normal pair of trousers. After all that chaos, Jack brings some structure (sort of) with his fun facts about Die Hard, trivia, stunt mishaps, unexpected Christmas film status it’s all in there. And THEN to close out the episode the lads circle back to the big listener question: What’s the best trade? The worst trade? And the cleverest trade on site? Cue heated debate, blistering insults, several questionable nominations, and at least one profession being disrespected beyond repair. It’s Episode 25: mushrooms, billionaires, holiday rants, Bruce Willis trivia… and finally, the trades showdown everyone’s been waiting for. 👍 Like, Subscribe & Share help us smash through that 2K milestone!
