Your Child’s Friends Might Be the Problem… And You Don’t Even Know | The 3L's Podcast Ep 59

How much control should parents have over who their children call friends? As children move into secondary school, their world gets bigger. New friendships, social media, vaping, peer pressure and influences enter their lives, often without parents knowing the full story. In this episode of the 3L Podcast, Eman and Mimi discuss one of the hardest parts of raising teenagers. When do you step in, and when do you trust your child to make their own decisions? After watching their own son move through different friendship groups, they reflect on how friendships affected his behaviour, confidence and experience at school. They also discuss why knowing your child matters, especially when you notice sudden changes in their personality, anxiety or attitude towards school. Eman shares his own experience of having a friend his mum disapproved of, despite the same friend protecting him from situations his parents knew nothing about. It raises a difficult question. Do parents truly understand the social world their children face every day? The conversation also explores faith, parental example, communication and why raising children with strong values matters more than trying to control every person around them. Main points: • Should parents choose their children’s friends? • Vaping, peer pressure and teenage friendships • Spotting changes in your child’s behaviour • When parents should intervene at school • Why communication matters as children get older • Teaching values instead of trying to control friendships • Creating a home where children feel safe enough to talk • Why raising a child still takes a village Would you stop your child from being friends with someone you believed was a bad influence? £60K Wedding or a House Deposit? This Couple CAN’T Agree! | The 3L's Podcast Ep 58

How much is your dream wedding worth, and would you go into debt to make it happen? In this episode of the 3L Podcast, we’re talking about the rising cost of weddings and whether couples are putting too much pressure on themselves to create the “perfect” day. From luxury venues and destination weddings to family expectations and viral weddings on social media, costs quickly add up. We also look at the bigger financial question. If you had £60,000, would you spend most of it on your wedding, or have a smaller celebration and put the rest towards your first home? We share our own experience after 15 years of marriage and discuss why the financial decisions you make before saying “I do” matter long after the wedding day is over. Then we get into this week’s dilemma. A bride has dreamed about her wedding since she was 12. She wants the grand venue, big family celebration and everything she has pictured for years. Her fiancé wants something small and affordable. He keeps returning to the spreadsheet, while she feels like she’s watching her dream disappear. With only seven months until the wedding, neither person feels heard. Main points: • Dream wedding vs buying a home • The pressure of social media weddings • Should you ever borrow money for your wedding? • Family expectations and who gets a say • Destination weddings vs UK weddings • Finding financial compromise before marriage • Why the marriage matters more than the wedding day Would you sacrifice your dream wedding to start married life in a stronger financial position? 💌 Send us your dilemmas & questions! ✨ Subscribe for more episodes on love, marriage, money & building a lasting legacy!

Would You Exploit Your Kids for Followers? The Dark Side of Family | The 3L's Podcast Ep 57Content

Should You Post Your Kids Online for Views? Social media rewards authenticity, and for parents who create content, family life often gets the most attention. But when posting your children leads to more views, followers, brand deals and money, where should you draw the line? In this episode of the 3L Podcast, Emmanuel and Miriam discuss the reality of sharing your children online. As parents and content creators, we have faced this question ourselves. Miriam knows motherhood content performs well, but the risks around privacy, bullying, unwanted attention and AI raise serious concerns. We also discuss consent. Children grow up, opinions change, and something a parent posts today might become something their child wishes had never been shared. Then comes this week's dilemma. A content creator built her account to 42,000 followers without featuring her children. After posting her daughter, engagement exploded. One bath-time video reached 200,000 views and brought brand enquiries. Her following grew to 61,000. The problem? Her husband had already set a boundary about showing their daughter's face, and he felt she was starting to view private family moments through the lens of content. Main points: • Should parents post their children online? • Are followers and brand deals worth the privacy risk? • When does family content become exploitation? • Should both parents agree before posting their child? • How much say should children have over their digital footprint? • Are some family moments too private for social media? Where do you draw the line? Let us know in the comments. Send us your dilemmas & questions! Subscribe for more episodes on love, marriage, money & building a lasting legacy!

She Helped Me Escape My Abusive Ex… Then Started Dating Him | The 3L's Podcast Ep 56

Would you ever date your friend’s ex? What if you knew the relationship was abusive? This week on the 3L Podcast, Emmanuel and Mimi get into a difficult conversation about friendship, loyalty, relationships and whether people deserve a second chance after a damaging past. The dilemma takes things to another level. A woman escapes an abusive relationship with the help of one of her closest friends. Her friend comes to her flat at midnight, helps her leave, listens to the details of the abuse and supports her through the aftermath. Then months later, she finds out through Instagram that the same friend is secretly dating her abusive ex. The friend says she “couldn’t help” falling for him. But was this love, or the ultimate betrayal? We debate whether dating a friend’s ex should ever be acceptable, whether enough time passing changes the rules, and whether a person’s abusive past should define who they are forever. If someone goes to therapy, changes their behaviour and becomes a different person, do they deserve another chance? Or should your loyalty to your friend make their ex permanently off limits? We also discuss the uncomfortable question behind the dilemma. Did the friend develop feelings afterwards, or did she secretly want him all along? Main points: • Should your friend’s ex always be off limits? • Does time change the rules? • Do people with abusive pasts deserve second chances? • Is secretly dating your friend’s ex an unforgivable betrayal? • Should you tell friends everything about your relationship? • Did she support her friend, or study the relationship because she wanted him? • Where should friendship boundaries begin and end? What would you do if your closest friend started dating the person who hurt you? Like, comment and subscribe, and tell us where you draw the line.

He Married Her Like This… Then Told Her to COVER UP! | The 3L's Podcast Ep 55

Can Your Husband Tell You What to Wear? Where does having an opinion about your partner’s clothes end, and controlling them begin? In this episode of the 3L Podcast, Eman and Mimi get into a heated conversation about clothing, modesty, marriage and control. If your partner met you dressing a certain way, is it fair for them to expect you to change once you get married? Eman argues that some men are attracted to confident women who dress a certain way, then suddenly expect them to cover up after marriage. Mimi questions where the line sits between respecting your partner’s feelings and slowly losing the freedom to express yourself. Then comes this week’s dilemma. A woman says her husband fell in love with her while she wore fitted, revealing clothes. Six months into their marriage, the comments started. He never directly told her what she was allowed to wear, but eventually she found herself putting clothes back in shops because she already knew what he would say. So is this a husband expressing his feelings, or control without ever saying the words “you’re not allowed”? Main points: • Should your spouse have a say in what you wear? • Does marriage change what is appropriate? • When does preference become control? • Is asking your partner to dress modestly reasonable? • Should you change how you dress after marriage? • Is the same standard applied when wives choose their husbands’ clothes? She Earns DOUBLE His Salary… Now He Wants Her to Stay Home | The 3L's Podcast Ep 54

Should Gender Roles Still Exist in Marriage? Are traditional gender roles outdated, or are modern relationships struggling because nobody knows their role anymore? In this episode of the 3R Podcast, Emmanuel and Miriam get into a heated conversation about gender roles, leadership, money, housework and expectations within marriage. Should a husband lead the home? If so, what does leadership look like in practice? Should women still be expected to cook, clean and take primary responsibility for the children? And what happens when the wife earns significantly more than her husband? This week’s dilemma brings the debate to life. A woman earns more than double her husband’s salary. Before marriage, he told her her career and income did not bother him. Years later, his attitude has changed. He now wants her to travel less, spend more time at home and consider slowing down her career after their next child. The problem? She has realised he never accepted the woman she was. He was waiting for marriage and motherhood to change her. This leads Emmanuel and Miriam into a wider conversation about whether couples need gender roles at all, or whether successful marriages simply need clearly defined responsibilities. Main points: • Should husbands lead their wives? • Are traditional gender roles making a comeback? • What happens when the wife becomes the breadwinner? • Should a woman sacrifice her career for her family? • Leadership versus control within marriage • Why couples need to discuss expectations before having children • The hidden mental load behind running a household • Why marriage needs clear roles, even if those roles are not based on gender Would you sacrifice your career for your marriage? And if your partner earned twice your salary, would you expect them to slow down? Send us your dilemmas & questions! Subscribe for more episodes on love, marriage, money & building a lasting legacy!

Situationships Are Destroying Our Ability to Love | The 3L's Podcast Ep 53

Are situationships giving us freedom, or are they teaching us how to leave the moment relationships become difficult? In this episode of the 3R Podcast, Emmanuel and Miriam discuss hookup culture, casual sex, friends with benefits and the rise of relationships with no clear commitment. What starts as a conversation about sexual freedom quickly becomes a deeper debate about loneliness, marriage, emotional attachment and whether modern dating habits are affecting our ability to build lasting relationships. The dilemma comes from a woman who spent five years moving through situationships while convincing herself she did not need commitment. She eventually met her husband and has now been married for three years. But during a recent argument, she noticed something disturbing. Before her husband had even finished speaking, her first instinct was to work out how quickly she could pack a bag and leave. Had years of walking away trained her to escape conflict instead of resolving it? Emmanuel and Miriam also reflect on their own marriage, dating before marriage, removing "backup options", opposite-sex friendships and why commitment requires more than simply choosing one person. Main points: • Has hookup culture made commitment harder? • The hidden loneliness behind situationships • Why casual relationships can become emotionally complicated • Does dating prepare you for marriage? • Why "backup options" can damage commitment • Learning to resolve conflict instead of leaving • Can past dating habits follow you into marriage? Is hookup culture liberating us, or training a generation to avoid commitment? 💌 Send us your dilemmas & questions! ✨ Subscribe for more episodes on love, marriage, money & building a lasting legacy! He Secretly Booked a Vasectomy… His Wife Wants Another Baby | The 3L's Podcast Ep 52

What happens when one person wants another baby and the other is completely done? In this episode of the 3L Podcast, Eman and Mimi open up about one of the hardest periods in their marriage. After three children, Mimi felt deeply convinced their family was not complete. Iman felt the opposite. With financial pressure, redundancy, a growing business and the responsibility of providing for their existing children, another baby felt like a risk he did not want to take. They share how the disagreement created resentment, distance and feelings of betrayal. They also reflect on what happened after their fourth child arrived, including the impact motherhood had on Mimi’s identity and her experience with what she now believes was postpartum depression. Then comes this week’s dilemma. A mother of two secretly hopes for another baby, despite her husband repeatedly saying he is done. After two years of hiding her true feelings, she finds out he has booked a vasectomy without telling her. His appointment is three weeks away. Is he wrong for making a permanent decision without involving his wife? Or did she lose her right to feel betrayed after staying silent for two years? Main points: • What happens when couples disagree about having more children? • Does a father have an equal say in deciding when the family is complete? • The financial pressure behind having more children • Resentment, emotional pressure and communication in marriage • Motherhood, identity and postpartum depression • Should permanent contraception ever be a personal decision in marriage? • When does compromise become resentment? • Is wanting another child enough reason to reconsider a marriage?
