Justin Castelli

An exploration of living your authentic life. Creator, advisor, and guide Justin Castelli examines the alignment of spirit, mind, body, and money and how it can help you live the life you were created to live--your authentic life. More at www.justincastelli.io. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The AlignedLife Podcast Manifesto Most podcasts are playing the same game, and I understand why. Downloads matter. Subscribers matter. Landing the guest everyone recognizes moves the needle. There's a real logic to it. But the side effect is that you end up hearing the same people on the same shows, telling versions of a story you've already heard. AlignedLife is going a different direction. I'm not interested in who's already famous. I'm interested in who has something real to say --- and more often than I think we realize, those aren't the same person. Some of the most important messages I've ever encountered came from people nobody had heard of yet. There's something about the unknown voice that carries a different kind of weight, maybe because it hasn't been filtered through a thousand interviews yet. The message is still alive in it. So this is what AlignedLife stands for: finding those voices. Creating space for conversations that haven't happened yet. Introducing you to people who might just change the way you see yourself --- or the life you're building. The question I ask when looking for guests isn't "how big is their audience?" It's simpler. Do I genuinely want to sit across from this person? Do they have something worth hearing? Do I believe, somewhere down the line, the world will wonder why it took so long to find them? That's enough. There's a short list of exceptions --- people I admire enough that I'd drop everything if the call came: Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Rick Rubin, Russ, Chris Williamson, Rich Roll, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Steven Pressfield, Kevin Kelly, Steph Curry, Rihanna, Ryan Holiday, Natalie Portman, Jay-Z, Eckhart Tolle, Mark Wahlberg, Cole Bennett, Jessica Alba, Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre, and Jon Bellion. That list is always growing. But the real work --- the work I'm most excited about --- is the search. Finding the voices that are ready before the world knows to look for them. Introducing you to someone living their Authentic Life on their own terms, quietly, before anyone thought to pay attention. That's the pursuit. Keep Pursuing, JC

Rethinking Money, Time, And What Your Twenties Are For with Jack Raines

In this episode of AlignedLife, I sit down with Jack Raines — venture capitalist, Substack writer, and author of the new book Young Money — to talk about what money actually means once you stop treating it as a scoreboard. Jack grew up around entrepreneurial parents and grandparents, which shaped his view of money as fungible rather than scarce. He shares the story of the trip his grandmother took him on to Tanzania at age 11, and the lesson she passed down that money is only worth what you eventually spend it on. We get into why he treated his early twenties as a season for building experience and social capital rather than chasing a paycheck — including the year he spent backpacking Europe and Latin America before business school — and why he thinks time, not money, is the one truly finite currency we have. We also dig into the tension between planning for the future and staying present, why he pushes back on the advice to obsess over savings rate in your twenties, and how intuition — backed by a disciplined information diet — has guided his biggest decisions, from career pivots to where he lives to how he dates. Toward the end, Jack shares a rule of thumb about planning your asset location for the version of you at 40, not 65, plus a half-joking pitch for a "degenerate account" every young investor secretly needs. If you're trying to figure out how money and time actually fit together at different stages of life, this conversation is for you. Jack's book, Young Money, is out now, and his newsletter of the same name lives at youngmoney.co on Substack. Find him on X, LinkedIn, and Instagram — search his name and look for the cowboy hat. 🔗 Young Money (the book): www.amazon.com/Young-Money-Wealth-Purpose-Twenties/dp/B0FZS5PL15 📩 Jack's newsletter: www.youngmoney.co

Finding A Flow State Through Mindfulness | Mindful Mondays Series

Session 2 of Mindful Mondays--a series for teen athletes on mindset, mindfulness, and the mental side of sport. This episode breaks down what mindfulness actually means, why elite athletes like Jared McCain and Michael Jordan rely on it, and how presence unlocks flow state on the court, field, or pitch.   We look at NBA forward Aaron Gordon's string of soft-tissue injuries and the connection between unprocessed grief and physical breakdown — a real example of the mind-body connection in action. We hear Phil Jackson describe building mental strength into championship Bulls and Lakers teams. And we dig into Nick Anderson, an 88% career free-throw shooter who never recovered his form after four missed free throws in a playoff game — a case study in how the past can hijack performance if you let it.   Topics covered: The real definition of mindfulness — and why "without judgment" is the hardest part Presence: why "be where your feet are" is the key to playing without fear Mindset vs. mindfulness — the doing vs. the being How fear only exists in the past or future, never in the present moment Flow state (aka "the zone"): what it is, its characteristics, and why trying harder pushes it further away Practical tools to build mindfulness: breathwork, visualization, journaling, routines, and honest self-check-ins Why bottling up emotions works against you, on and off the field   Next up: a guided introduction to meditation.

Mindset Is What Separates Great From Good | Mindful Monday Series

This is the first of five talks I'm hosting at our house for Roman and Leo's friends and teammates. The goal is to introduce them to ideas, concepts, and tools that will not only help them on the court or field, but more importantly in life. I'm just trying to plant some seeds! The series covers Mindset, Mindfulness, Meditation, Breathwork, and Visualization. Only 3% of high school athletes play college basketball. What separates that 3% from everyone else isn't talent — it's mindset. In this first session of Mindful Mondays, I sit down with a group of teenage athletes to break down what mindset actually is, why fear is the #1 thing working against you, and how belief drives everything you achieve (or don't). We cover the Kobe "Mamba Mentality" mindset, the difference between your brain and your mind, why comparison (especially on social media) kills confidence, and the exact tools — journaling, affirmations, visualization, and more — that turn doubt into belief. This is part 1 of a 5-part series built for young athletes, but the lessons apply to anyone chasing a goal. In this talk: - The stat that shows how rare it is to go pro — and why mindset closes the gap - Why "you cannot achieve what you do not believe" - Brain vs. mind, and why you can't control one but can control the other - Fear: what it actually is (False Evidence Appearing Real) and how to face it - The Messi penalty-miss story — and what elite athletes do differently after failure -Building confidence through preparation, self-talk, and routines - Simple journaling prompts to start strengthening your mindset tonight Next up in the series: Mindfulness — the difference between mindset (the doing) and mindfulness (the being) on 7.27.26 Book referenced: The Mindful Athlete by George Mumford
