Imagine being in the shoes of Benaiah - Ps Andrew McCarthy

What do you do when you're faced with a battle you didn't ask for?    Most of us want to make a difference for God, but we often underestimate what He can do through ordinary people. Throughout this series, we're discovering that some of the greatest heroes in Scripture were people whose names are barely mentioned, yet their impact changed lives and shaped history.    In this message, we dive into the incredible story of Benaiah, one of David's mighty men. He killed two lion-like champions of Moab, chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day, and defeated a seven-and-a-half-foot Egyptian giant armed with only a club. Why? Because he understood a powerful truth:    Great opportunities often come disguised as difficult challenges.    As believers, we're not just facing physical obstacles, we are engaged in a spiritual war. The enemy wants us to retreat, stay silent, and live intimidated. But God calls us to stand our ground, put on His armour, and fight for the people around us.    This message will challenge you to rethink bravery, confront the giants in your life, and discover how your courage today can become someone else's pathway to Jesus tomorrow.    You don't need a big name to have a big impact. You simply need the courage to trust God and take your stand.    This message will speak to:  What biblical bravery really looks like  The powerful lessons from Benaiah's life  Why difficult challenges often hide God-sized opportunities  Understanding the spiritual battle we're all facing  How your courage can influence the next generation  Standing firm when fear, opposition, and uncertainty come    Biblical bravery isn't the absence of fear, it's trusting God enough to act anyway.
