    Jonathan Safir, A Creative with a Mathematical Mind who's unafraid to Career Pivot

    Today’s guest is Jonathan Safir who I’ve known since our days at Parson School of Design back in the late ‘80s where Jonathan graduated as a photography major. He professionally took photos for over 20 yrs. His career path has followed some of his other interests - in math and hospitality. He is now the founder of No Panic Design, a web development studio that delivers projects that are clean, innovative and creative. I love working with his company because I appreciate his attention to design details and also his geeky technology knowledge that I know nothing about. In our chat, we’ll be talking about my favorite topic of career pivots, as well as creative identity, and what happens when art meets code.     Randy Myers on diving into a new career path (in your 50s!)

    I’m thrilled to have Randy Myers on the show. His story is one of transformation, resilience, and following your passions wherever they may lead. Randy's career journey began as a voracious reader and film enthusiast, which evolved into a successful career in journalism—covering features, sports, and reviewing films for major publications. But it was his training for the AIDS Life/Cycle ride over a decade ago that set him on a completely new path into becoming a fitness instructor and trainer. I admire how Randy dove right into a new career path - even though he started in his 50s - all the while still happily continuing being a journalist!  I met Randy over a year ago attending a bunch of his amazing fitness classes and I was always interested in why he always spoke about screening films, writing reviews and interviewing actors and directors while also giving these skilled fitness classes. I really do admire his passion for both journalism and fitness. These careers seem so far apart which is why Randy's story is so inspiring!
