Building Dignity On Site: How Flowaid Is Changing Workplace Culture | Shayne & Ana from Flowaid | Becky Felstead | The Resource

Send us Fan Mail Most people hear "I would never take a job in mining" and assume it's about money, hours, or being away from family. For Ana Trenwith, it was about something far more basic, access to a toilet, and the fact that no one had ever built a system to make that possible. In this episode of The Resource Podcast, Becky sits down with Shayne McKinnon and Ana Trenwith, the team behind FlowAid and the Flowaid Standard, ahead of their live launch event next week. Shayne spent years in project management, IT operations and business leadership roles, often the only woman in the room, before her time in the drilling industry showed her a gap nobody had built a real solution for. Ana brought a background in complex organisational systems, and together they turned a practical kit into an operational standard now being adopted across some of Australia's most remote and high risk workplaces. What started as a simple idea, on site access to hygiene and period products and some straightforward guidance for site leaders, grew fast once the feedback came in. When Shayne surveyed the workforce, every single role responded, from senior leadership down to green crew, and the answer was the same across the board: this is a real problem. That's when Ana came on board to help systemise it into the Flowaid Standard, mapped across five operational pillars and built to sit alongside the safety systems these workplaces already understand. Becky, Shayne and Ana also get into just how far people have had to go without it. Workers making pads out of bags with gaffer tape on the bottom. Stacking three layers of period products just to get through a shift. Skipping periods altogether on birth control without knowing what it might cost their hormone health down the line. Ana opens up about a decade long health battle that's made her periods incredibly difficult to manage, plus a surgical procedure in her teens that left her with continence issues so severe she says she'd never personally take a job in a remote environment because of the toilet access alone. And when Ana's own daughter's school camp cut off shower access for three days and the school called the fallout "resilience training," it became personal all over again. This episode is for anyone who has ever quietly managed a basic need at work because there was no other option, and for any leader who wants to know what actually fixing that looks like, not a policy on paper, but a system people can rely on. In this episode they cover: The four hour drive with no plan for where to go to the toilet, and the moment that started it allWhy 100% of one workforce's anonymous survey came back saying the exact same thingWhat people are actually using on site when there's no period product availableGrowing up with a single dad and using her own pocket money to buy pads at 11 years oldA decade long health battle that's made periods incredibly difficult to manage at workThe school camp that cut off shower access for three days and called it "resilience training"Why the fix costs about as much as a box of tampons, and why that's part of the problemThe five pillars now defining what doing this properly actually looks likeWhat's coming at next week's live launch event➡️ FOLLOW THE FLOWAID STANDARD HERE ➡️ instagram.com/theflowaidstandard FlowAid: https://www.flowaid.com.au/ The Flowaid Standard: https://www.theflowaidstandard.com.au/ 👋 About Becky Felstead | The Resource Podcast host Becky launched The Resource Podcast during the FIFO Inquiry to spark real talk about culture, mental health, and the hard stuff no one wants to touch. From Waratahs to Western Force to Walking Away: Tiaan Tauakipulu's Story | Becky Felstead | The Resource

Send us Fan Mail Most people look at a 24-year-old walking away from a professional rugby contract and assume something went wrong. For Tiaan Tauakipulu, everything had finally gone right, he just wasn't the person the sport needed him to be anymore. In this episode of The Resource Podcast, Becky sits down with Tiaan Tauakipulu, a former Waratahs and Western Force prop who made the New Zealand Schoolboys team, signed his first professional deal before he'd even finished school, and spent nearly a decade building an identity entirely around rugby, before choosing, on his own terms, to walk away. Tiaan opens up about the week his career and his family's world collided: the day he signed a long term deal with the Waratahs was the same day he learned his mum had been diagnosed with leukemia. He talks through the sixteen month injury battle that followed, the identity crisis of being a professional athlete who never got to just be a normal teenager, and the text to his brother, "I want to do it," that ended his rugby career for good. Becky and Tiaan get into what it actually took to break a professional contract on compassionate grounds, the fear that hit right after ("did I just ruin my life?"), and why he now believes finishing a career on your own terms is rarer than people think. This episode is for anyone standing at the edge of a decision they know is right but are terrified to make, whether that's an athlete, an employee, or anyone who has built their whole sense of self around one thing and is wondering who they are without it. In this episode they cover: The scale moment at 14 that turned him from "the big kid" into someone obsessed with work ethicMaking the New Zealand Schoolboys team and hearing his mum cry on the phone from the other side of the worldSigning a long term Waratahs deal and getting the leukemia diagnosis call within the same hourSixteen months of re-injury, and the mental health toll nobody talks about when an athlete's body breaks downThe five day scramble that took him from Sydney to a new three year deal at Western ForceThe exact moment, mid training session, he texted his brother "I want to do it"Why breaking a professional rugby contract on compassionate grounds is almost unheard ofThe fear that hit after he retired: "did I just ruin my life by walking away?"What his dad said on the phone that reframed the entire decisionWhy he believes most athletes wait too long to ask "what happens after this?"His new mission: becoming a player agent so more Pacific Islander athletes have someone in the room who looks like them➡️ FOLLOW TIAAN HERE ➡️ instagram.com/_tiaantauakipulu Tiaan's YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TauakipuluTiaan   Catch his podcast, The Proposition, wherever you listen. 👋 About Becky Felstead | The Resource Podcast host Becky launched The Resource Podcast during the FIFO Inquiry to spark real talk about culture, mental health, and the hard stuff no one wants to touch. Why Being “Nonchalant” Is Ruining Men | Daniel Principe | Becky Felstead | The Resource

Send us Fan Mail Most people think boys today are just soft, nonchalant, or checked out. Daniel Principe will tell you they are not wrong, they are just looking at the symptom instead of the cause. In this episode of The Resource Podcast, Becky sits down with Daniel Principe, an educator and speaker who has spent close to a decade running conversations with boys, men, teachers, parents and now adult mentors, and the man behind Last of the Romans, his platform for helping young men figure out who they actually want to be. From classrooms to maximum pressure parent events to university orientation weeks, Daniel has built a career around the conversations most adults are too uncomfortable to start. It began with him sneaking away from his own day job to carve out pockets of time to sit down with boys and just listen, never expecting anyone to care. Now he can barely keep up with the schools, universities and companies asking for him. Daniel also opens up about his own twenties, the relationships he damaged before he had the tools to show up well, and the friends who quite literally sat with him through the darkest stretch of his life. Becky gets asked point blank whether she wants a nonchalant partner, and her answer says a lot about what women actually want and what so many men have gotten backwards. This episode is equal parts cultural deep dive and deeply personal. If you are raising a son, teaching teenagers, dating in this current landscape, or have ever wondered why so many young men seem to be struggling right now, this one is for you. In this episode they cover: Why so few genuinely good male role models exist in TV, film and pop culture, and the one exception Daniel keeps coming back toWhere boys actually get their role models from, and how far behind influencers and sports stars really rankWhy apathy, not aggression, is the trait women call the most unattractive in a manThe moment in his twenties when Daniel realized he had never once seen a healthy relationship modeledWhy so many boys say they are scared to talk to girls in real life, and what is quietly filling that gap insteadA simple, non awkward way to actually talk to your kids about consent and boundariesWhy "loving" is the one word that almost never comes up when boys describe a good manThe friends who stepped in and said "we have to make sure this doesn't happen to Dan again"What Daniel calls one of the darkest moments of his life, and who showed up for him at 5amWhy the "traditional family" setup most people assume is normal is actually a fairly recent inventionHis advice for parents, and his advice for young people, trying to navigate all of this right now➡️ LEARN MORE ABOUT DANIEL'S WORK HERE ➡️ https://www.danielprincipe.com.au/ Follow Daniel on Instagram at Last of the Romans HERE ARE DANIEL's DETAILS: https://www.danielprincipe.com.au/ https://www.instagram.com/lastoftheromans/?hl=en 👋 About Becky Felstead | The Resource Podcast host Becky launched The Resource Podcast during the FIFO Inquiry to spark real talk about culture, mental health, and the hard stuff no one wants to touch. The 90sec Personality Test Used in Prisons, Boardrooms and Schools | Pad Bray | Becky Felstead | The Resource

Send us Fan Mail Most people think Myers Briggs and DISC are the gold standard for reading people. Pad Bray will tell you they are not wrong, they are just not fast enough. In this episode of The Resource Podcast, Becky sits down with Patrick "Pad" Bray, an NLP Trainer and Master Practitioner, author and the creator of TEAM ME®, an archetypal leadership model now used in over 54 countries. From why a maximum security prison taught him more about human connection than any classroom, to what a 90 second quiz can do that Myers Briggs, DISC and the Enneagram can't, they break down a model built to work in the boardroom, the classroom and everywhere in between. Pad also opens up about where it all started, a teenage dream of becoming a rock star, legs literally shaking on stage, that led him into NLP and eventually into building TEAM ME from scratch. Becky gets her own profile read live too, lover by a long way, and finds out exactly why that has made her so quick to give and so slow to set boundaries. This episode is equal parts framework and raw, honest self recognition. If you lead a team, sit in a boardroom, or have ever clashed with someone and couldn't work out why, this one is for you. In this episode they cover: Why Myers Briggs and DISC fall apart under real pressure, and what happened when Pad tested his method inside a maximum security prisonThe rock star origin story behind TEAM ME, and how fifteen years of work got distilled into six charactersThe six TEAM ME archetypes: Sovereign, Warrior, Sage, Mystic, Lover and JesterThe Ferrari and the goofball, why character will always matter more than mechanicsBecky's own profile revealed live, and what being a lover archetype has cost herHow to speak the right language to a sovereign, a warrior, a sage and a mystic in a single conversationThe CEO who couldn't work out why his best employee had lost his edge, and what Pad saw in six and a half secondsWhy the jester is the most underestimated character in any workplacePad's mental health and suicide prevention program built for the mining industryWhere to take the 90 second TEAM ME quiz and find out which characters are running your life➡️ DO THE TEAM ME PERSONALITY TEST HERE ➡️ https://teamme.app/  Learn more about TEAM ME® and work with Pad Bray at teammeleaders.com 👋 About Becky Felstead | The Resource Podcast host Becky launched The Resource Podcast during the FIFO Inquiry to spark real talk about culture, mental health, and the hard stuff no one wants to touch. Send us Fan Mail Most people think blended families fall apart because of the kids. Brit and Josh will tell you it's almost never the kids — it's the couple. In this episode of The Resource Podcast, Becky sits down with Brit and Josh, founders of The Blended Blueprint and former WA Police officers who met on the job, to have the conversation blended families and stepparents rarely get. Send us Fan Mail Before the podcast. Before the mining industry. Before the speaking stages — Becky Felstead was a photographer. For 15 years, the lens was her life. From photojournalism in regional WA to shooting front-page stories, celebrity athletes, and high-society events, Becky lived a career most creatives dream of. In this solo episode, Becky opens up about the winding road that brought her to where she is today: the teacher who changed her life, the burnout she didn't see coming, the gut feeling that told her helping people mattered more than getting the shot, and why she believes every single chapter of your life is building towards something.
