    Your Truth Isn't THE Truth

Send us a Text! We want to hear your questions, thoughts, and dilemmas to discuss during our “Chels Chats”- join the conversation 🤍 “My truth” is everywhere, but I’ve been wondering what we’ve lost by using it as a mic drop. I’m not interested in dismissing anyone’s feelings, trauma, or lived experience. I am interested in the quiet shift where speaking your truth starts getting confused with speaking the truth and where validation replaces curiosity. We talk about why humans are unreliable narrators (even when we mean well), how selective memory and self-protection can shape our version of events, and why it’s possible for two people to experience the same relationship in completely different ways. I share the mindset that keeps me grounded: two things can be true at once. Your feelings can be real, and your interpretation can still be incomplete. That’s not weakness, it’s emotional intelligence. The internet loves clear heroes and villains, but real life is layered: you can be hurt and still owe accountability, you can have good intentions and still cause harm, and healing often needs privacy, time, and humility. If you’ve ever asked yourself whether you’re chasing truth or protecting the version of yourself that feels safest, this one’s for you. Listen, share it with a friend, and then subscribe, leave a review, and tell me your take: has social media changed how you tell your story? Your Brain On Joy: The Oxytocin One

Send us a Text! We want to hear your questions, thoughts, and dilemmas to discuss during our “Chels Chats”- join the conversation 🤍 EPISODE 26--Your Brain on Joy but this is one where we pop some Oxytocin. What if the deepest joy isn’t loud at all, but quiet, warm, and rooted in feeling safe with yourself and others? We go all-in on oxytocin—the bonding hormone behind trust, belonging, and the calm that lets joy stay—showing why presence beats productivity when it comes to feeling connected. Instead of glorifying hustle, we slow down to explore how emotional safety fuels happiness, why proximity isn’t the same as intimacy, and how “connection” outperforms “attachment” for lasting relationships. You’ll leave with practical, human ways to boost oxytocin: longer hugs with consent, meaningful conversations where you listen without fixing, honest eye contact, unrecorded acts of kindness, deliberate laughter, and brave, bounded vulnerability. We also share reflection prompts to locate where you feel safe, with whom you feel most like yourself, and where you could soften. If you’ve felt lonely in a crowded life, this is your invitation to trade chaos for care, urgency for presence, and quick highs for gentle joy. If this resonated, share it with someone who “gets you,” subscribe for the series finale next week, and text us your trial-and-error stories so we can include your voice in our Chels chat wrap-up. Your presence here matters—choose connection, and choose joy. Don't forget to text us to be featured on the next episode of Chels Chats! Visit @choosejoyypodcast on Instagram and X for more.
