    Renee Desai -- The Creative Journey from Pharma to Fabrics

    Renee Desai is the founder of The Centered Needle. There she designs and produces easy overlayers to help women create outfits effortlessly. Her products include kimonos, dusters and open front cardigans as well as upcycled denim jackets for pieces that make women feel as special as they are.  While Renee trained as a research scientist, she has spent most of her career as a homeschooler and as part of a startup pharmaceutical company. Her work in the homeschooling sphere taught her to value creativity and a willingness to pivot outside the box when needed.  Her work in the startup world, taught her about business and to leverage what she learned into new endeavors. Renee has now combined these earlier experiences with her love of fabrics and desire to move into a more creative space to found The Centered Needle. Renee lives and works in Easton, PA.     Heather Krey, M.Ed. is the co-owner of World Class Tutoring. She has more than two decades of experience helping students meet their goals on the SAT and ACT and is the author of World Class Tutoring’s innovative test prep curriculum. Ms. Krey has bachelor’s degrees from Lehigh University in engineering and psychology. She also has an M.Ed. in Mathematics from DeSales University and an M.Ed. in Teaching from Kutztown University. Ms. Krey holds PA teaching certificates in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English and has taught in Parkland, Emmaus, and Southern Lehigh High Schools. She also worked as an adjunct professor at Cedar Crest College and as a tutor at Kutztown’s University Writing Center.
