EP #47: Building a Business While Living a Full Life with Lindsay Wawryk

In this episode of The Holistic Living Podcast, I interviewed Lindsay Wawryk, a physiotherapist who is building an online business while balancing a full and beautiful life. Lindsay currently works three days per week in a hospital while growing her online business focused on helping people prepare for knee surgery. During our conversation, she shared how the COVID-19 pandemic revealed a major gap in patient education when in-person hospital programs were canceled. This realization inspired her to begin creating online resources to help patients feel more prepared and confident before surgery. Over the past four years, Lindsay has gradually built an online presence, including an online course and a Facebook community that has grown to over 5,000 members from around the world. While the journey hasn’t been an overnight success, she spoke openly about the steady, consistent progress that comes from showing up, learning new skills, and continuing even when growth feels slow. We also talked about what it really looks like to balance entrepreneurship with a full life. Lindsay is raising two children, working in healthcare, and living in a mountain town where time outdoors is an important part of daily life. She shared how nature, movement, and strong boundaries help her manage the emotional demands of her hospital work while still having energy to grow her business. Throughout the conversation, we discussed the realities of entrepreneurship…the patience required, the discomfort of self-promotion, and the importance of celebrating small wins along the way.  If you’ve ever wondered how to pursue a business dream without sacrificing family, lifestyle, and well-being, this episode offers a refreshingly honest look at the process. In This Episode We Talk About: How COVID-19 revealed a gap in patient education for knee replacement surgery Lindsay’s transition from hospital physiotherapy to online education Building an online business slowly and consistently over four years Balancing a side business, hospital work, and family life Living in a mountain town where lifestyle and nature are priorities The challenge of self-promotion when building an online presence The importance of mentorship and accountability in entrepreneurship Setting boundaries and celebrating small wins Key Takeaways: Building a business while living a full life requires patience and consistency. Growth often happens slowly, but steady effort compounds over time. Mentorship and accountability can make a huge difference in staying motivated. Boundaries are essential when balancing multiple roles and responsibilities. Starting small and sharing your expertise consistently can lead to meaningful impact. Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs: Lindsay encourages anyone thinking about starting a business to begin by sharing their expertise online…even if it’s just one piece of content each month. By focusing on solving a problem you’re uniquely qualified to help with, you can begin building trust and community over time without needing to quit your day job right away.  Lindsay Wawryk is a physiotherapist specializing in knee arthritis, knee replacement preparation, and recovery. Based in the small mountain town of Rossland, BC, she’s raising two daughters with her husband and their dog, Toast. Lindsay is the founder of an online membership that helps people with knee pain relief and knee replacement recovery through expert education, exercise, and community support.   If you’re looking for knee pain relief and better movement —whether or not knee replacement is on your horizon, learn more at: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Kneereplacementsuccess Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/kneereplacementsuccess Membership: https://www.skool.com/knee-relief-network-9847 If you enjoyed this episode hit that follow button! EP #45: The Woo & The Do - An Embodied 90-Day Planning Experience for Business Owners

This episode is a replay of a live, guided practice I hosted called The Woo & The Do. It was created as a way to kick off 2026 by clarifying the first 90 days….starting not only with strategy and planning, but with calming the nervous system. If you’ve ever felt stuck in overthinking, planning, or searching for the “right” approach, this episode invites you to begin somewhere different: in the body. Inside, I share why you can’t systematize your way out of overwhelm, and why sustainable momentum comes from blending the woo (embodiment, intuition, nervous system care) with the do (focus, structure, and action). In this episode, you’ll experience: A grounding breath + somatic movement practice Why self-doubt, procrastination, and overplanning are nervous system responses The difference between an internal yes and a pressure-based yes Why consistency comes from safety, not discipline A simple way to clarify your next 90 days—without forcing or hustling How to choose one clear focus that actually moves things forward This recording was originally part of a live experience, so you may hear references to participants or moments of reflection. You don’t need to see anything…just let the practice meet you where you are. If this resonates and you want to go deeper, you can download the Woo & Do Starter Kit, which walks you through this full process and includes the guided practice, journal prompts, and the simple 90 day planning framework I created to help you take action on your dreams. 👉 https://empowerwithpassion.com/woo/ Thank you for being here! Ep 44: Overwhelmed? How to Find Clarity When Life Feels Too Busy

This month's episode is a little different. I’m sharing a conversation where I was interviewed by Tara Findlay on the Perimenopause Whisperer Podcast. I wanted to bring it here because it speaks directly to a theme I see again and again in my work with women growing a business.  There comes a point when the strategies that once worked stop working. When pushing harder doesn’t bring clarity, and thinking your way forward only creates more confusion. Often, this season shows up in midlife, during perimenopause, or after years of holding it all together. Tara and I talk about nervous system regulation, burnout, self-trust, and the shift from living in your head to listening to your body. We explore how clarity doesn’t come from more information, but from creating the space to actually hear yourself again. In this episode, we explore: Why having the “right strategy” doesn’t work when your nervous system is overwhelmed How burnout can exist even when life looks successful on the outside The connection between perimenopause, midlife, and the need to slow down Why intuition gets quieter when we’re constantly rushing or overthinking How breath, movement, and somatic practices unlock clarity the mind can’t access The fear many women carry around being seen, using their voice, or choosing themselves Why rest is not a weakness and actually a power move. We also talk about letting go of hustle as the default, learning to trust yourself again after years of outsourcing answers, and making meaningful change without overwhelming yourself. ✨FREE JANUARY CLASS INVITATION: The Woo & The Do: How to go from a swirl of ideas to a clear 90-day plan you’ll actually follow. In this free 75-minute experience, I’ll guide you out of overthinking and into your body… where real clarity lives. From there, we’ll turn that clarity into a simple, courageous plan for the next 90 days. Together, we’ll use gentle movement, breathwork, reflection, and visualization to reconnect you with your core vision, regulate the nervous system, and create a clear, supportive 90-day action plan that actually feels doable. Wednesday, January 14th at 10am PST | 1pm EST Replay will be sent if you can’t attend live. 👉 Save your spot here: https://empowerwithpassion.com/clarity/ About Tara Findlay: This conversation was originally recorded for the Perimenopause Whisperer Podcast, hosted by Tara, registered massage therapist and perimenopause educator who supports women in navigating midlife with compassion, education, and nervous-system-informed care. Ep 43: If You’re Ready for Something to Shift… Listen to This

I recorded this on the morning of my birthday here in Mexico... just me reflecting on trust, openness, and what life has been trying to show me lately. In this episode, I share what’s been unfolding on this trip: teaching yoga at an all-inclusive, becoming a student again, traveling solo, and a surprising moment with a stranger on the beach that cracked something open in me. I talk honestly about fear, uncertainty, and why I feel like we’re all being invited to soften, connect, and let life meet us in new ways. My hope is that it helps you notice where you might be gripping… and where you’re ready to open. In this episode I reflect on: Why birthdays pull me back into presence Little moments of connection that shifted everything Trust vs. fear in this season of my life Receiving, reciprocity, and staying open An invitation for you to show up more fully My upcoming event in Whistler This is for you if you're craving more trust, more connection, more alignment, or you just need a reminder that you’re not alone in whatever season you’re moving through. Ep 42: The Courage to Show Up & Be Seen with Shannon Frame from The Collective Alchemy

In this honest conversation, I sit down with friend and fellow Whistler based facilitator Shannon Frame — a certified Breathwork Facilitator, Yoga Nidra Instructor, and Trauma of Money Coach — to explore what it truly means to be seen. Together, we dive into the courage it takes to show up authentically in both life and business, the fears that hold us back from visibility, and how embodiment practices like breathwork can help us reconnect to clarity, confidence, and self-trust. My hope is that this episode serves as a gentle reminder that being seen doesn’t mean being perfect — it’s about showing up in your wholeness, embracing the messy middle, and allowing yourself to be witnessed in both your strength and vulnerability. ✨ In this episode, you’ll hear about: The courage it takes to step forward and be truly seen How to release fears that make us want to hide Shannon’s journey of moving from shame into self-acceptance and empowerment The power of the breath as an anchor for nervous system regulation Recognizing when your nervous system is dysregulated — and how to soothe it The difference between feeling excited vs. fearful when stepping into visibility How to navigate authenticity without feeling overexposed Why self-acceptance and integrity are essential for being seen and trusted Small, realistic daily practices to reconnect with your breath and body ✨ Favorite Quote from the Episode: “Being seen is being seen in our wholeness — the polished and the unpolished parts, the realness of what it means to be human.” – Shannon Frame ✨ Connect with Shannon: Instagram: @thecolletivealchemy Website: www.thecollectivealchemy.com Email: shannon@thecollectivealchemy.com ✨ Connect with Andrea: Instagram: @andrealeeliving Website: www.empowerwithpassion.com Email: hello@empowerwithpassion.com

Ep 41: The secret to creating momentum

Ever find yourself hustling to get everything done… only to crash the moment you finally stop? That was me before heading off on a 10-day trip to cottage country in Ontario. I pushed hard to wrap everything up, then swung to the complete opposite...slow mornings, quiet nature walks, and absolutely no rushing. And it got me thinking: this is the dance we’re all navigating. The fire of action. The flow of ease. One gives us momentum, the other gives us sustainability. The secret isn’t in choosing one over the other. It’s in learning how to move between both. In this episode, I’ll share: ✨ Why staying in “fire mode” too long leads straight to burnout ✨ How leaning into “flow” can actually bring back your energy and creativity ✨ Why balance isn’t about splitting your time 50/50—it’s about rhythm ✨ A simple reflection + embodiment practice you can do right now to reset your energy By the end, you’ll have a fresh perspective on what balance really looks like and how to create momentum that actually lasts...without running yourself into the ground. And if this conversation sparks something in you, I’d love to invite you into IGNITE: my 8-week online group experience for women who are ready to step into their next chapter.
