#48 - Your Parts Aren’t the Problem, Your Choice Is.

Hey podcast fam, in this solo I’m going deep. I’m sharing real stories, old wounds and shadowy parts I don’t usually put on the internet, to show you how I processed a big emotional trigger and a psychosomatic injury in just a few days. If you’ve been getting hooked by the same relationship triggers or watching yourself self-sabotage even when you know better, this story will reveal an alternative approach forward. This is the first in a series I’m calling “So what are you going to choose?”. I tell a fresh-in-the-body story from last week. How I said yes to performing a deeply emotional embodiment piece at Outspoken, dropped into an old wound onstage, and two days later my body “injured” itselfout of nowhere. That injury led me straight into a relationship trigger and straight into the exact work I teach: parts, protection, regulation and choosing from your centre. If you’ve ever felt not enough, compared yourself to someone “more” than you, or watched yourself push love away, this one’s for you. #47 - Rewilding the Soul & Remembering Your Place of Belonging with Tei Taiyari

If you’ve ever felt the ache of modern disconnection or longed for a more meaningful way to walk through all the change that is currently existing in this world, this convo is a must listen. Recorded in the lush mini-jungles of Santiago, Guatemala, this episode explores the practice of threshold counselling with my good friend and legend, Tei Taiyari, founder of Coyotei Counsel. A counsellor, death doula, writer, and edge-walker, with a background that bridges deep ecology, imagination, and rites of passage work, Tei is devoted to helping people navigate life’s transformative thresholds with meaning and courage. Together in this conversation we unpack what it means to cross a threshold, not just as an idea, but as a lived rite of passage drawn from anthropology and ecology. Tei shares a deep, raw, and vulnerable story from his own childhood, a moment that truly highlights the power of threshold crossings and how they can shape the trajectory of our lives. From here, we widen into themes of shame and self-worth, disconnection from land and culture, and the lingering impacts of colonisation that still impacts how we relate to ourselves and the world. You’ll also hear about practical ways to reconnect with your inner wilderness, deepen your sensory awareness, and reclaim a sense of belonging, not only to community, but to the more than-human world. This conversation offers both grounded tools and soulful reminders that the wild wisdom you seek is already alive within you. Hope you enjoy fam. #46 - From Psychosis to Purpose. The Alchemy of Anger, Hip Hop & Healing with Amenti.

Amenti MoveMeant is a prolific community-based, psyche-somatic movement school and method founded by Gil ‘The Grid’ Gomes Leal. Rooted in ancient Kemetic wisdom and shaped by Gil’s background as a professional hip-hop dancer, Amenti is a transformative body-mind-spirit practice that explores what it means to be fully human through movement, psychology, shamanism, and symbolism. They hail from Rotterdam in the Netherlands and are currently on a global tour, sharing their unique workshops & performances that blend dance, Jungian psychology, somatic practices, and communal ritual work. Ever since witnessing their dance transmissions on stage at Boom Festival in Portugal back in 2023, I knew their work would change the world. For me, Amenti stands for so much more than the prolific dance troupe and school they are. They’re a living example of what can happen when you choose to look at the cards you’ve been dealt in life, the dark and the light, and choose to play them in a way that takes responsibility for your highest aspirations and service to the world. For me, Amenti stands for what is possible when you trust yourself, your tribe and spirit through life’s biggest trials and tribulations, and turn it into something beautiful. In this conversation I’m graced with the presence of Gil, the founder, as well as Tamara, a lead facilitator who’s been there from Amenti’s origins. Enjoy folks, this one’s an absolute banger.   (04:27) – Welcome to the Studio(04:39) – Getting to Know the Guests(07:01) – Amenti's Personality and Mission(10:06) – The Importance of Connection(13:47) – Cultural Differences and Community(18:25) – The Role of Hip Hop in Healing(25:08) – The Pathway to Freedom: The 5 Steps(31:45) – The Relationship between Responsibility and Freedom(34:01) – The Birth of Amenti Movement(36:45) – Gil’s Story of Psychosis(52:15) – Layers of the Movement Method(53:35) – Debating the Elements: Air vs. Fire(54:16) – The Era of Anger and Empathy(58:33) – The Power of Connection and Acceptance(01:02:17) – Fire and Air: A Journey of Self-Discovery(01:04:54) – Challenges and Lessons in Leadership(01:15:31) – Manifestation and Radical Honesty(01:26:05) – Final Thoughts and Future Plans   Connect with Amenti WebsiteInstagram Gil's instagram Tamara's instagram Connect with Me Website Instagram STORYTELLERS. #44 - Unleash your Inner Artist: Freedom and Boldness through Performance Arts with Zera

In today’s episode we’re metaphorically jumping on a plane to the north of Thailand, to a little hippy town called Pai. Back on my 2024 trip, I visited the intimidatingly impressive Zera and recorded this deep and playful conversation. This conversation offers insight into how performance art, embodiment & somatic practices can strengthen your relationship to your body, intuition and lead to more powerful self-expression. Sandwiched in between fascinating travel stories, we offer tips and tools for you to start straight away. Zera is a multi-discipline performance artist, specialising in the interconnection between somatic dance and contemporary circus. What makes her stand out from the crowd is her ability to combine her unparallelled skills, along with her own unique approach to storytelling. Whether she’s running her own movement and circus festival, or she’s creating viral content on YouTube, Zera’s mission is to inspire her heart-felt community to connect to something greater than themselves. Hope you enjoy the roosters in the background.   CHAPTERS: 04:02 Introduction 04:19 The Serendipitous Meeting in Bali 05:01 Discovering Dragon Staff and YouTube Fame 06:08 The Essence of Performance Art 08:23 A Journey of Independence 10:41 Finding Community in Thailand 15:29 The Power of Authenticity and Embodiment 31:24 Misconceptions About Performing Arts 33:55 Ice Cream Analogies and Self-Discovery 36:03 Embracing Failure and Self-Compassion 39:17 The Power of Somatic Dance 44:34 Practical Steps to Embodiment 51:07 Lightning Round: Quick Insights 57:10 Living a Fulfilling Life   Connect with Zera Instagram YouTube THE dragonstaff YouTube video Find your Flow Masterclass   Connect with Me Instagram Website STORYTELLERS - link launching Jan 29th 2025

#42- The Art of Tea: Medicine, Mindfulness, and Culture Reconnection with Charlie Cheeseman

As both a tea devotee and an Asian growing up in Australia, this conversation hit me on many different levels, and I’m thrilled to be able to bring it to you all. Today’s conversation is with the inspiring Charlie Há Cheeseman, a first generation Australian born of Vietnamese descent, and the founder of ‘The Hive’. The Hive is a tea house in devotion to the old way, through the art, musings and wisdom  of tea in ceremony. A space of contemplation, meditation, cultural & social conversation. In this interview, Charlie explores the profound depths of tea beyond its common perception as a simple beverage, and introduce it as a medicine for personal, spiritual and cultural connection. Through personal anecdotes, Charlie shares his journey of cultural reclamation, his efforts to preserve indigenous tea culture in Vietnam, and the broader implications of tea as a bridge to self-awareness, community, and nature. This convo is for anyone who desires a simpler, more fulfilling life and for change-makers who want to make a positive impact on the world.
