The Man for the soundtrack. Karie is a scholar-activist and independent filmmaker exploring culture, ecology, and relationship to place. One thing that stood out was how she described their music as having a kind of “homing” quality—something deeply connected to place. We also talked about how a lot of PTM’s lyrics carry themes of nature and relationship to the land, and how their sound held the exact emotional tone she was looking for—balancing cultural critique with a sense of hopeful joy and buoyancy.I thought this was a really interesting lens on their music that people here might appreciate.
