I enjoyed listening to this enlightening conversation about Menachem Begin!

after loving Eli as guests on a few other podcasts (and the epic Norman Finkelstein “debate”) I thought i’d seek this out. Glad I did. The episode on Begin is amazing and so illuminating right now.

OK Eli….we got it. The Steele Dossier wasn’t the real McCoy. Now, can you please get off of that hobby horse? It’s getting boring. And, can you please be equally as outraged over Trumpism and it’s corrosive effect on our politics, social cohesion and our alliances with foreign partners?

The episode on punk seemed to present a tremendous depth of understanding, but then used that understanding to make bizarre and trollish claims: that Kanye wearing a maga hat is the most punk thing since (whatever). Or even to launch a pathetic libertarian defense of Margaret Thatcher. Neither of these two were ever anybody in a punk scene despite their base of knowledge. I don’t think they ever in used the word scene. Because they weren’t there. And couldn’t have breathed that air.

This guy is just god-awful, racist, angry, and spouting pro-genocide speech every single day.

I thought there was no place left for ppl with sense. Glad to have found this.

This loathsome terrorist takes pleasure in seeing brown skinned children suffer and die so that people like him can steal what they don’t even need. It’s a great podcast for people who think that believing everyone should have the same rights makes you an anti-semite.

Eli is the man! He does incredible deep dive on an eclectic range of subjects and has far ranging discussions with terrific guests. He has his point of view, but he is transparent about his approach and he is nuanced in his discussions. Even when I disagree with him, I know he’s being honest and thorough and thoughtful.

Good topics and discussion but the constant interrupting makes it difficult to listen.
